The ever-vigilant JihadWatch.org alerts us to the situation in Scotland where Glasgow Mooslims are complaining that local people are drinking alcohol OUTDOORS ["Muslim anger at bid to serve drink outside"]. The scene of the controversy is an Italian restaurant serving drinks at a few tables on the sidewalk.

MUSLIM charities have tried to stop an Italian restaurant serving drink on a terrace, claiming it is offensive to Glasgow’s Asian community.

Gambrino Pizzeria in Kelvinbridge wants to use the pavement outside its premises as an eating and drinking area and has applied to Glasgow City Council for permission.

However, the proposals for eight tables and 16 seats has infuriated the local Asian community who say drinking alcohol outdoors is “offensive”.

Two Muslim charities, UK Islamic Mission, based at the Islamic Mosque in Carrington Street, and Noah’s Ark/ Radio Ramadhan in Arlington Street, formally objected to the Great Western Road restaurant’s seating plans.

Javeed Gill, secretary of the UK Islamic Mission, said: “This area is the second largest area for Muslims in the city and we look after 1500 young people and provide activities for them.”

Having a tasty glass of wine or beer outside on a nice day is an activity which many Vdare.com readers (and writers!) have enjoyed, I dare say. But the perfect Islamofascist utopia forbids human pleasures, just like most of the previous utopias.

Hopefully, the Scots will smack down the ill-mannered immigrants before things get out of hand. Sensitive Mooslims can become violent when their wishes are not obeyed, such as the case in Nigeria where disagreements between beer drinkers and Islamic teetotalers have led to small-scale warfare in areas of Sharia law.

Someone should inform the Sons of Allah that Western Culture includes the concept of self-control as part of the freedom which we individuals enjoy. If they can’t grasp that idea, then they should get on home where their attitudes are more appropriate.

But all Americans are paying a price for higher immigration. For example, while growers in California are making money by hiring cheap illegal pickers, 84 hospitals have closed in California.

There are a number of solutions to the produce problem, one of which is to grow your own tomatoes, another is to pay more money for individually picked tomatoes, or for that matter, stick to canned tomatoes.

Most people don’t realize that the tomatoes you get in a can, or in ketchup, are picked by machinery, a problem that was solved years ago, as result of the end of the Bracero program.

So congratulations to gardeners who are eating there own produce, and condemnation to the agricultural interests that say they can’t make it without illegal labor.
