Imam, Son Agree To Be Deported; We Win Round One

Mohammed Adil Khan, the most controversial of the two Lodi imams that have overstayed their R-1 visas, has agreed to be deported to Pakistan. Also to be deported is Khan’s son who holds an expired R-2 visa.

In exchange, authorities will drop charges that Khan misrepresented himself to obtain his visa. (Reading between the lines: Khan almost certainly falsified his credentials on his R-1 application letter.)

The trial involving Umer and Hamid Hayat, two American citizens charged with lying to federal officials about attending Al Queda terrorist training camps, is scheduled for August 23rd.
