Immigration Reform: It’s done this way…

Steve Sailer’s likely all-too prescient essay this evening on the future role of Asian workers in the aftermath of the Bush Amnesty/Immigration Acceleration Bill becoming law refers to the interesting case of Thai workers being used in Washington State’s Yakima Valley orchards. VDARE.com has blogged on this rich item before.

Not only does it involve our old friends and RICO miscreants Zirkle Fruit, but it also illuminates the methods and style of an American gang mastering outfit, Global Horizons Inc

Lead by Mordecai “Motty” Orian, who apparently got his start importing Asians into his native Israel (not all importees remember him fondly it seems) Global has become active undercutting agricultural wages in a number of different states and industries.

Currently Global, which lost its license to operate in Washington for what the state Department of Labor and Industries called a “significant pattern of failing to comply with even the most basic of Washington state laws.” is engaged in an ingenious maneuver to get it back: a kind of Hitler-Stalin Pact with the United Farm Workers Union: Union, contractor have a deal – now what? By Leah Beth Ward Yakima Herald Republic April 30 2006. (An important part of the deal is Orian’s promise to recruit in Mexico rather than Asia.)

But a more general insight into America’s 2006 Immigration Legislation problem comes from the story’s last sentence:

Orian, an Israeli citizen who last year gave $15,000 to the National Republican Congressional Committee…

Remember Sleeper Cells?

Despite the fact that authorities have “disrupted more than 150 terrorist cells and threats from Portland, Ore., to Lackawanna, N.Y., incapacitating more than 3,000 known operatives“, Sons of Allah reportedly remain within our borders who are ready to kill infidels at a moment’s notice [N.Y. Hezbollah Hunt, NY Post 5/22/06].

The Hezbollah terror group - one of the most dangerous in the world - may be planning to activate sleeper cells in New York and other big cities to stage an attack as the nuclear showdown with Iran heats up, sources told The Post.

The FBI and Justice Department have launched urgent new probes in New York and other cities targeting members of the Lebanese terror group.

Law-enforcement and intelligence officials told The Post that about a dozen hard-core supporters of Hezbollah have been identified in recent weeks as operating in the New York area.

In addition, FBI Director Mueller reported in March that the threat of Mexico as a terrorist highway is real: Hezbollah Busted in Mexican Smuggling Operation.

The Senate plans on making the threat worse, by vastly increasing the numbers of legal immigrants to 66 million over the next 20 years. Half of Mexico will likely move here of course, but the inevitably lessened scrutiny of rubber-stamped applications means that terrorists will be able to enter easily also.

Immigration Debate Update: Senator Sessions Says Amnesty Begets Amnesty

The debate got off to a rocky start with Senator Feinstein (D-CA) talking about her Orange Card Plan–I would love to explain it to you but frankly, I can’t figure it out. It’s part of a step process or something…in any event, it’s just another way to avoid deporting illegal immigrants.

Then Senator Grassley (R-Iowa) took the floor and spoke about common sense–something his colleagues lack but he seems to have in abundance.

He pointed out many of the flaws with S.2611 and then asked one, simple question:

“Why aren’t we putting the burden on the alien?”

Now my favorite man is addressing the body: Senator Jeff Sessions (R-Alabama.)

While Feinstein and Co. are talking about their need for cheap labor, Sessions just accused them of arrogantly ignoring the demands of the American people. Commenting on S. 2611, he said

“These actions are unworthy of the great Senate of the United States–we ought to be ashamed of ourselves.”

He went on the say,

“The American people have been right from the beginning….(they have been) arrogantly ignored by the executive branch and the congress.”

Senator Bill Frist (R-TN) may be the Majority Leader and a GOP front-runner for President in 2008 but he deserves neither–Senator Jeff Sessions, on the other hand, he deserves both.

“I Say It’s Amnesty, And I Say To Hell With It”

When McCain made his ridiculous “Call it a banana” remark, is there anyone else who was reminded of the famous New Yorker cartoon, first published December 8, 1928, of the little girl who is being asked to eat her vegetables?

(Young Mother:) “It’s broccoli, dear.”
(Young Daughter:( “I say it’s spinach, and I say the hell with it.”

“Orange Card”–Will McCain Call It A Banana?

Heads up, VDARE readers. Coming to the U.S. Senate this week, likely today – The Dianne Feinstein amnesty of a different color- the “Orange Card” amnesty.

The requirements to get an Orange Card are as follows:

• Undocumented on 1/1/06
• Physically present in the U.S. on or before 1/1/06
• If over 18, employed or in school on 1/1/06
• Paid taxes
• Speak English
• Have an understanding of American civics
• Pass criminal and security background checks
• Registered for the selective service if required
• Pay $2,000 fine

You can read all about it here , courtesy of that All-American law and order outfit, The National Council of The Race.

[VDARE.com note: Seriously, there are lots of places where you can contribute if you want to do something about immigration reform.]

If you are like me, and wouldn’t dream of giving these people any of your money because you realize that you would be paying for your own dispossession, you can click here [National Council of La Raza Corporate Partners] to see which American corporations do donate, and heavily to one of the most aggressive proponents of “amnesty again” and continued illegal immigration into our nation.

UPDATE: More from Dianne Feinstein from CBS:Feinstein Proposes Earned Legalization Program.

Feinstein’s solution is a biometric, numbered card that would allow the government to keep tabs on workers it now cannot track.

“I call it an orange card,” Feinstein said, “so that those people who have been here[illegally] the longest are the first to get their green card, at the end of the line.”

American Voices Are Being Heard On The National Illegal Immigration Disaster

Last week [ May 14] the Atlanta Journal Constitution Editorial page editor here, Cynthia Tucker, wrote her usual blather about illegal immigration - and then attacked me. Personally.

She seemed upset.

“… legitimate concerns can be drowned out by the bigoted messages of xenophobes such as D.A. King, a Cobb County man who has emerged as one of the loudest local critics of illegal immigrants. Though he insists he supports legal immigration, he rails against cultural change.”

[Note from D.A; I do support legal immigration. I also support fertilizing my lawn, but I know the result of applying too much fertilizer...]

It was headlined: “Living proof of immigration’s marvelousness“. Honest.

It turns out that Tucker’s sister is married to a former illegal alien. Huh…

You can read Tucker’s column from in Baltimore Sun, which does not require registration, here.

I started to write more here about Tucker, but for now, I don’t have much to add to the last time I wrote about her… here.

Yesterday, the letters editor put ten letters in response to Tucker in the declining AJC. Read them here. They covered half a page.

The Baltimore Sun did not publish a different version of my response to Tucker there. Huh…

I have offered to publicly debate Tucker several times. She has never responded.

My response letter printed in the yesterday’s AJC [Sunday, May 21, 2006] Fun is where you find it.

From her perch high atop Mount. Mindless on the far, far left, Tucker’s “invective- filled” personal attack on me is evidence of her obvious desperation and anguish resulting from the knowledge that American voices are being heard on the national illegal immigration disaster.

Illegals wave the flag of Mexico while screaming, “Los Angeles is ours”!, They carry signs demanding “Amnesty now”! and “This is our continent”! Nearly five years after 9/11, millions of people from all over the world continue to illegally cross our unsecured borders every year.

English is an optional language in Georgia.

Unlike Tucker, most Americans regard these facts as bad things.

One can only imagine the sleepless nights Tucker must suffer knowing that we even have borders - or how she must secretly regard the brave Border Patrol Agents who risk their lives to guard them.

I wear Tucker’s dishonest attack as a badge of honor.

Again.

Another note from D.A; I write a column in a competing, but smaller, local paper here - the Marietta Daily Journal, . Two weeks ago, I wrote about my sadness concerning the loss of my beloved office helper and pal, Bob the cat. Bob was lost to coyotes - they are everywhere here. The column is linked here.

I keep expecting to read in one of Tucker’s rants that I am a ” xenophobic, heartless anti-canine bigot” who is against four-legged animals that “look different” than me and are a different “hue” than Bob was.. She is that clueless.

Good-bye Bobbers…we miss you.
