There’s No Debating Amnesty At The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

In this morning’s edition, the Atlanta Journal Constitution’s editorial board, with Cynthia Tucker as its leader and head thinker, has come out in support of amnesty again.

Officially.

Nation encourages illegal immigrants, June 19, 2006

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution supports comprehensive immigration reform that includes a pathway toward eventual citizenship for most illegal immigrants in the country. Citizenship should be reserved only for those willing to pay fines and any back taxes they owe, have a demonstrated work history, a clean criminal record and knowledge of English.

We believe that by consciously refusing for years to enforce our laws, this nation has welcomed illegal immigrants here to get the benefit of their labor. It would be unfair and inhumane to force them now to leave.

While we support increased efforts and personnel to improve border security, we believe the best way to stem the flow of illegal immigrants is to enact new laws on workplace hiring and aggressively enforce the laws already on the books.

With the headline “Illegal immigration debate rages on”, directly below the editorial there is an entire page of letters from what readers the AJC has left that mostly disagree with Comrade Tucker and her dutiful flock.

As I am one of the remaining AJC subscribers, I can report that the disconnect between Tucker and her readers is ongoing. Week after week the letters to the editor reflect the realistic attitudes towards the organized crime of illegal immigration while Tucker continually refers to anyone who speaks up against the “marvelousness” as “bigot”, “xenophobe”, “nativist” “racist”… yada, yada.

Like many writers who attempt to marginalize patriotic Americans demanding equal protection and secure borders she often uses the term “on the fringes” to describe them.

From here in Marietta, we must ask Tucker - who is really on the fringe?

Cynthia continues to ignore my repeated requests to publicly debate her on illegal immigration and amnesty. Maybe now that her editorial page has officially endorsed another amnesty, she would feel more confident if I offer to debate her entire collective?

Here is the offer Ms. Tucker:

You name the venue, time and date. I will happily debate you and the rest of your editorial board. We can charge a nominal admission fee and donate it to the Border Patrol Union in Tucson, ….Si?

Warning to Tucker et al: If you were find the courage to accept [HA!] I will do something you have constantly avoided… I will mention that we have proven that amnesty does not stop illegal immigration.

George Will(ow) bends. Big Surprise.

Some time ago, a VDARE blogger noted the existence of a MSM species, the “Conservative” pundit who would advance genteel, often complex arguments, but, in the end, always cave. They supply a pretence of balance, and can be useful tactically to their employers.

He also noted the species is now rare, their habitat having been largely expropriated by Neoconservatives, but that George Will remained an example.

True to form, Will has published a call to capitulation in Sunday’s Washington Post [Calculating Immigration Politics -June 18 2006]

Since there is absolutely nothing new or original in this article, which is just another attempt to scare Inside-the-Beltway types about the Hispanics, the more useful occupation is to consider why Will was set in motion just now.

Gratifyingly, he disapprovingly cites the Santorum race, which VDARE.com has noticed before. Santorum is getting attention in DC it seems. And perhaps it is not too much to see, in Will’s acknowledgement of the possibility of “Short-term Gain” from opposition to the Bill, an indication (also seen in the Wall Street Journal recently) that the Amnesty/Immigration Acceleration Bill managers are realizing the House will not commit electoral suicide on their behalf.

But they are telling us they will be back.

“Hispanic advocates”?” How about “white advocates”?

I think I’m going to set up a non-profit organization which promotes the interests of White people…and only White people.

We will lobby for all kinds of government benefits and preferential treatment! Ooh, and then we’ll register as many White people as we can to vote and have voter cards printed in the language of our choice…at taxpayers expense, of course! You see, that way we can flash big voter numbers around and bully politicians into doing whatever we want!

What? Does that sound racist?

Come on, Hispanics get to do it…I’m just trying to be fair!

In the great state of Oregon, a group of “Hispanic advocates” have launched a campaign to register one million new Hispanic voters in time for the 2008 election.

(Hmm…I wonder if the MSM would call my group white advocates…something tells me our label would not be so nice!)

The campaign will focus on millions of legal residents who are eligible to apply for citizenship–once they become citizens, they can vote.

The campaign will also focus on the millions of children born in the United States to illegal immigrants–they are already citizens and as such, they can vote.

Aeryca Steinbauer ( in English, that would be E-R-I-C-A) of the Oregon group CAUSA (scroll down) wants these children to vote in order “to defend their parents and their families.” (email her)

These are the same people who will gasp in shock when the rest of the world finally stands up to fight all this ethnic entitlement garbage…then they’ll call us racists.
