That’s what I told Joe Guzzardi when he was doing the piece about Peter Pace crying about immigration reform. (It’s a quote from the movie A League of Their Own, which is about girls playing baseball when the men were off to war.

Apparently, this is a trend in modern politics, now it’s Grover Norquist:

So I’m watching E! Hollywood News (don’t ask me why…pregnancy has possibly rotted my brain) and apparently Mel Gibson’s arrest for DUI over the weekend is causing quite a ruckus in LA LA Land.

In a world where drug and alcohol addiction (and just garden-variety debauchery) is so prevalent that it sounds more like an entry on a resume than an affliction, why should a DUI stand out?

Well…at some point during the ordeal, Gibson supposedly said something like “Jews are responsible for most of the wars in the world.”

Ouch!

The only thing more dangerous than someone making a derogatory comment about Jews in Hollywood would be a naked woman standing outside of mosque in Tehran with the words “ALLAH WAS HERE” written in body paint across her chest.

Back to E! Hollywood News…some Rabbi was interviewed and asked how he felt about Gibson’s allegedly racist remark.

He said (brace yourself) “Mel Gibson suffers from two diseases–alcoholism and anti-semitism.”

My sister (who is the funniest person I know) was watching as well and when the Rabbi tossed out that little zinger Jen said:

“All this time we’ve been concerned about AIDS and Cancer when there are other more worthwhile diseases which deserve our attention.”

On a more serious note, this is not about anti-semitism or racism or anything of that nature–I am not interested in saying what is or isn’t an anti-semitic remark. Hate as a hobby (and there is no proof that Mel Gibson does) is not my cup of tea!

But set all of that aside for a moment because I do know one thing:

ANTI-SEMITISM IS NOT A DISEASE!!

Just because something is distasteful, annoying or just plain wrong does not mean it is a disease–see: television evangelism, vegetarianism and Beatlemania.

While cities and counties, not to mention states around the U.S. are beginning to take advantage of a ten-year old federal law that will train local police to apprehend and detain illegal aliens - and build deportation cases on them, Sheriff John Rutherford in Jacksonville, Florida, has decided that it will be easier if he not just ignores the illegals in his community, but promises them sanctuary.

It seems that the Sheriff in Jacksonville has promised illegal aliens that if they don’t turn to the gangs for “protection”…he will promise that they can safely live and work illegally in his jurisdiction. I won’t ask if you don’t tell?

The Florida Times Union today ran a story describing the local sheriff’s motivation behind creating a new “International Affairs Unit” that apparently has been formed to “quell the fears of illegal immigrants concerned they would be arrested and deported if their status in the United States was discovered.”[ Sheriff assures fearful Hispanics, By Dana Treen, , July 31, 2006 ]

In America, the police are here to protect your rights,” Rutherford said, pausing while his remarks were translated to the mostly Hispanic audience. “They don’t have to turn to MS 13 or some other group to protect them.”

MS 13, a street gang with roots in Los Angeles’ El Salvadoran community, is growing in numbers in the South as Hispanic populations grow, according to the National Alliance of Gang Investigators’ Associations.

Rutherford said police intelligence units learned last year that there was a possibility MS 13 members were being contacted to provide protection after a series of assaults on Hispanics who roomed together in Jacksonville apartments and residences.

That is why this unit had to be started now,” he said.

We wonder from here in Georgia which other crimes Sheriff Rutherford will ignore to make his job easier, and which rights Americans have in his area. Apparently not the right to equal protection under the law.

“In America, the police are here to protect your rights”…indeed.

Note from D.A. King to Sheriff Rutherford: you are a coward and a disgrace to your uniform. My grandfather was a beat cop in Detroit from the late 1920’s until the early 1960’s. He died at age 96 with more integrity in his little finger than you have shown here. I am glad that he did not live to see your shameless actions.

Maybe that “anti-litter” initiative will make the citizens you are sworn to protect forget this ridiculous and shameful act of collusion…eh? Not if I can help it, you are now a pet cause here.

While the rights of Americans are being violated every day in Jacksonville, Florida by the illegal aliens, we now see that a head law enforcement officer has decided that if you are Hispanic and in the U.S. illegally, you have more rights than those pesky Americans who are expected to obey the same set of laws.

Sadly, it will only be a matter of time before we are forced to add another name to the NO MORE DEATHS page here because of Rutherford’s cowardice.

Pamela Waechter is the latest victim of multiculturalism, the failed ideology which believes that all cultures are equal and can get along in one country, kumbaya fashion. She was the woman who was shot and killed Friday by the Muslim shooter in Seattle.

Naveed Afzal Haq forced his way into the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle by holding a gun on a 13-year old girl and proceeded to shoot five other women in addition to Pam. Born in America, Haq declared “I am a Muslim American, angry at Israel” as he gunned down the unarmed Jewish women.

Haq had a degree in engineering, was 30 years old, yet had a string of loser jobs. He had been getting psychological treatment for 10 years, but you have to wonder how much his real problem was the near-impossible cultural adjustment for a Muslim growing up in the United States with immigrant parents. Adult immigrants have their cultural and personal identity figured out, so any difficulties are of the exterior navigational variety.

But children growing up in America within immigrant cultures having anti-western values must sort out very conflicted identities, and in so doing necessarily deny a substantial part of who they are. Muslims in particular have a tough task, since they learn in some (many?) mosques that Jews and Christians are enemies, period.

A 2005 Freedomhouse report found teaching materials in geographically diverse US mosques that were very anti-American and anti-Semitic, declaring democracy to be un-Islamic. The study characterized the instruction as urging “when Muslims are in the lands of the unbelievers, they must behave as if on a mission behind enemy lines.” That sort of indoctrination makes assimilation psychologically stressful, to say the least.

Neilsen said he thinks Haq’s issues with family, his religion and even his social life just compounded. He said he believed his friend wanted desperately to fit into mainstream U.S. society. But he felt like an outcast in his own family.

Conflicting interior cultures can make offspring of immigrants dangerously crazy. If academia weren’t so beguiled by believing diversity is the highest good, some inquisitive sociologist would have laid out the statistical arguments by now that the offspring of immigrants are more maladjusted than their parents. (Daniel Pipes’ thoughts in Sudden Jihad Syndrome are not unrelated; likewise the recent Seeing Today’s Immigrants Straight by Heather MacDonald.)

This murdering scum should not be cut slack because of his internal culture clash; on the contrary, he should face the death penalty. But Americans should realize that some cultures are inappropriate for this society: when the square peg is forced into the round hole, bad things happen.

Let’s suppose for a minute that the president and the rest of the open borders lobby lost the battle on illegal immigration and secure borders and the U.S. House bill (HR 4437) were passed by the Congress ( come on, try hard, this is my fantasy) - and went to the President’s desk?

But after that address, Blair and Clinton have added an event: They’re expected to be at UCLA when London Mayor Ken Livingstone and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa sign a city-to-city agreement on reducing greenhouse gases, sources said.

FYI, London’s Mayor is known as Red Ken for his Marxist beliefs. In addition, he is notable for his fondness for radical Islam and hatred of America.

As we know, Mayor Vile, er Villaraigosa is an ardent Mexican reconquista, a political movement that has caused the population of southern California to explode with millions of uninvited Mexicans, plus a diversitude of others.

So it is mind boggling that Mayor Vile of all people (!) says he wants to reduce greenhouse gases, when overpopulation in industrialized countries is a major cause of excessive hydrocarbons being flung into the atmosphere. And Los Angeles practically invented smog with its millions of cars spewing out airborne crud.

If the Mayor wanted to reduce greenhouse gases from Los Angeles, he could repatriate illegal Mexicans back to their low-tech, earth-friendly villages.

Furthermore, the idea that two Marxist mayors lose any sleep about the health of the planet is absurd on steroids. Publicity sluts like Livingston and Villaraigosa will do anything for a photo op, no matter how ridiculous the concept.

The MSM is anxiously parroting that Naveed Afzal Haq, who reportedly announced Friday’s Seattle atrocity with the memorable words

is a U.S. citizen. However, it is a pretty safe bet his ancestors did not come over on the Mayflower. A more enterprising source (scroll down) suggests Pakistani connections .

A great deal could be said about this event, and the circumstances which gave rise to it. The VDARE.COM question, however, is:

Given the facts of the Middle East situation, and given the nature of the American involvement, is it wise or prudent to have significant Muslim immigration?

Various Muslim types are condemning the violence, but of course, not condemning the Islamic ideology from which it sprung. In fact, against all the evidence, they say things like this

That’s from an article titled Interfaith community expresses solidarity[By Debera Carlton Harrell, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, July 29, 2006] in which various Seattle clergy talk about how this is going to mess up their interfaith prayer breakfasts and such.

Nope, this is straight jihad stuff–the killer, Naveed Haq–shouted “I am a Muslim American, angry at Israel” before shooting at the women. So, if it’s jihad, then it’s a normal reaction for a Muslim, a genuine religious act, which is why many Americans are concerned about Islam.

Of course, the Muslim leaders couldn’t condemn Islamic theology if they wanted to, not just because they’d lose their jobs, but because if they did, there’s a strong possibility they’d be murdered (yes, in America) for “apostasy.”

But, the question is “Why is this happening here?” After all, America isn’t a Muslim country. Why, it’s the era of mass immigration, started by the 1965 immigration act, and strongly encouraged by all these clergymen.

For example, there was an interfaith service for peace in the Middle East held at St. James Cathedral in Seattle. This involved Catholics, Protestants, Muslims and Jews.

St. James Cathedral is the Cathedral church of the Catholic Archdiocese of Seattle. Here is the what the cathedral staff [contact them] has to say about “immigrants rights.”

The Church Council of Greater Seattle, which represents 419 non-Catholic churches, [send them mail] has a similar page, but it’s under construction. However, the fact that “Immigrants rights” is a subpage of “Social Justice” tells me all I need to know about what’s going to be on it.

You will be happy to learn that according to the staff at the Seattle Cathedral, the following are “myths”

• Immigrants don’t pay taxes.
• Immigrants come here to take welfare
• Immigrants send all their money back to their home countries
• Immigrants take jobs and opportunity away from Americans
• Immigrants are a drain on the U.S. economy
• Immigrants don’t want to learn English or become Americans
• Most immigrants cross the border illegally
• Weak U.S. border enforcement has lead to high undocumented immigration

and the final myth is

• The war on terrorism can be won through immigration restrictions

The reason they give for the fact that immigration restriction doesn’t curb terror is that the 9/11 hijackers had legal visas, the easiest thing for immigration restriction to restrict.

But here’s my suggestion, instead of interfaith dialogue, we could have “outerfaith.” “Outerfaith” dialogue would be where members of the religion of peace could could be encouraged to go back where they came from, and the church leaders who wanted to dialogue with them could use email.
