When Mama Ain’t Happy…

According to a London Sunday Times poll (here), Britons - especially women - are calling for a serious crackdown in immigration restrictions (reports Isabel Oakeshott).

The general numbers report that 63% of the poll takers think immigration restrictions should be “much tougher”, and 28% believe immigration is “generally bad” for Britain. Indeed, about the same number of people think that Britain should close the borders completely as believe that immigration is “generally good” (11% and 14%, respectively).

Most noteworthy:

In a striking finding, women of all ages appear to be particularly hostile to the number of foreigners settling in the UK — with many deeply sceptical that it is benefiting Britain.

(Please excuse the following gratuituous linkage, but I’d like to make a point.)

Call me sexist, but I’m not surprised the crime, harrassment, fragmented community, chauvinism and increased daily struggles (think: ordering a Happy Meal) got to us girls first. We often bear the brunt of it.

You know the old southern saying, “when Mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.” I presume the same holds true across the pond.

This isn’t just a man’s fight. Now let’s start seeing some results.

C-SPAN Gets Brave about Islam

For a non-politically correct overview on what Americans need to know about Islam (and therefore Muslim immigration), watch or read the hour-long C-SPAN talk with author Robert Spencer, who also hosts the valuable JihadWatch website [Q and A Interview with Robert Spencer, 8/21/06].

Islam is the only religion in the world that has a developed doctrine, theology and legal system that mandates violence against unbelievers and mandates that Muslims must wage war in order to establish the hegemony of the Islamic social order all over the world.

Now these things are objectively verifiable facts. Anyone can look at the Koran, anyone can look at the Muslim sources, the Muslim history, Muslim legal texts and so on and find that to be true.

It’s actually better to watch the tiny screen version online rather than read the poor quality transcript because there are several video clips that make no sense as text. The clips are from a hard-hitting documentary, “Islam: What the West Needs to Know,” in which Spencer appeared along with several other little-seen experts, including Serge Trifkovic, author of “Sword and the Prophet, and Walid Shoebat, the ex-Palestinian terrorist who converted to Christianity.

Robert Spencer has written several increasingly successful books which do not conform to the “Religion of Peace” propaganda put out by terror-supporting groups like Council on American Islamic Relations. As a result, he doesn’t get many calls for appearances on the MSM and lives in a secret location to avoid the fellows sending death threats. So it goes when you are working to save western civilization.

Buchanan Book #1 On Amazon

As of now, it’s definitely a “surprise bestseller.

State Of Emergency

Profiling in Airports–Too Late

Daniel Pipes’ NY Sun column on the latest hijack plot asks if it’s “Time to Profile Airline Passengers?” It’s accompanied by this cartoon, which I thought I’d share with you.

Someone's been bringing dead birds into the house, and it seems unfair to only check out the cat.

The politically correct TSA has been looking for any other way of figuring out who the next Arab terrorist is going to be, rather than by, for example, checking out the Arabs in the line.

They’ve tried a program called SPOT, (Screening of Passengers by Observation Techniques, ) which one TSA idiot called “the antidote to racial profiling,” which is supposed to find out who in line is nervous. It works–they’ve caught “passengers with forged visas, fake IDs, stolen airline tickets, and various forms of contraband,” but no terrorists.

But the time for profiling was obviously September 11, 2001, when 19 Arabs boarded three separate planes. But it was illegal then, and it remains illegal now.

“Dividing Americans?” No, It’s What’s Called A Border

Democrats are starting to take on the immigration issue–let’s face it, it’s not hard to get to the right of George W. Bush on immigration.

Ruben Navarrette objects.

Last year, speaking to the National Council of La Raza, Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean said that Republicans “scapegoat” illegal immigrants, and that the GOP would use immigration as a wedge issue in the 2006 elections. He also pledged that “Democrats will never divide Americans to win elections.”

Never came a lot sooner than I expected.
Democrats turn to scapegoat immigrants The San Diego Union-Tribune

1) Illegal immigrants aren’t scapegoats–the principal feature of a scapegoat is that he’s innocent.

2) The Democrats are complaining about Bush’s failure to guard the border–the border doesn’t divide Americans, it divides America from the rest of the world.

Vivir Latino Response To Buchanan Book

Jennifer Woodard Maderazo at the VivirLatino blog calls him a “xenophobic freak.” Also, she seems incredulous that immigration could cause an infestation of bedbugs in the United States.

And apparently Mexicans are responsible for — of all things — bedbugs:

The New York Times knows better

In the bedbug resurgence, entomologists and exterminators blame increased immigration from the developing world, the advent of cheap international travel and the recent banning of powerful pesticides.[Just Try to Sleep Tight. The Bedbugs Are Back, November 27, 2005]
