Border War: The Movie

The Christian Science Monitor reviews the new film Border War:

Do you want to get good and steamed up about illegal immigration? See “Border War.” Do you want to get a better sense of what needs to be done to secure the homeland? See “Border War.” Remarkably, this documentary is coming to a theater, or at least a screen, near you.

I watched the trailer for the film on the film’s website. What I noticed in researching Border War is that it appears to be showing in very few theaters-and will be available on DVD next month. This is the next thing to a “straight to DVD” release. Still, I think it is important to see this issue covered in film at all. I can believe that in a few years, we’ll see the immigration restriction issue entering into films that have major theater distribution access.

Japan: If It’s Not Broke, “Fix” It?

Japan’s rapidly increasing productivity rates, high product quality, high income equality and relative social stability have been an inspiration to many of us here at VDARE.COM.

That may well be about to change according to The Christian Science Monitor:

For one, he’s groomed a successor who will become Japan’s youngest prime minister ever and the first born after World War II.

Shinzo Abe is expected to win the premier’s post Tuesday after being elected this week to head the ruling Liberal Democratic Party.

……

He’d like to open the door to migrant workers and have students do a year of volunteer work before entering university.

Now, there are countries like Singapore that have migrant worker policies that affect their citizens less dramatically than American policies like H-1b visas. Only time will tell what is happening in this case.
