Don’t Mention Race, Even If It Costs Lives

A violent black racist has been making violent attacks on Asian women in New York, and he’s described in most news stories as an African-American, with an police artist sketch of his face. Most news stories, but I found one news story on the Metro papers site with not only no picture, but a complete description of him with the main detail omitted. The picture below does not appear in Metro’s version of the story, I got it from a more responsible news site.

Slasher

AUG 27, 2007

MANHATTAN. At least three women have been slashed by a man as they walked along busy city streets, most recently in Chinatown, police said.

The victims — Asian-Americans in their 30s or 40s — told police that the suspect slashed their right arms with a knife or an unknown object as he passed them. The latest attack occurred Aug. 17 at Chrystie and Delancey streets, where a 35-year-old woman was attacked. Police said the woman suffered a minor laceration and was taken to an area hospital for observation.

Investigators believe the same man is also responsible for two attacks on July 16. A 32-year-old victim was slashed as she walked on West 32nd Street and a 46-year-old woman was assaulted hours later near Grand and Chrystie streets.

Police said the suspect was described as a man in his late 20s about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a light gray sweatshirt with the numbers “09” on the back. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 800-577-TIPS.

This is the paper that’s given away free on the subways in New York, so it’s the one that’s among the most likely to be seen by potential victims, but they just can’t say that the guy who’s slashing random Asian women is black–even if it costs lives.

Ask Joshua Rhett Miller[email] if he did this on purpose, and ask the editors of NY Metro [email] if this is their policy.

Calderon Slams U.S. Immigration Policy in State of the Union Address

Mexico’s President Felipe Calderon delivered his Informe (Mexican State of the Union Address) and felt compelled to do a little bashing of U.S. immigration policy, and was boisterously applauded by the audience for it .

I think if you read the president of Mexico’s statement, like me, you will be further motivated to keep fighting the open borders lobby, of which the Mexican government is an important element.

Here’s what Calderon had to say:

Finally, I have said that Mexico does not end at the border, that wherever there is a Mexican, there is Mexico. Therefore, the action of the [Mexican] government in favor of our fellow Mexican migrants will be guided by principles: the defense and protection of their rights, …the detection of measures that can affect our people and the professionalism that we must offer to our fellow Mexicans.

Therefore, we are dedicating all of the resources earned in our consular network to the benefit of the Mexicans abroad.

In the name of the government of Mexico, I again protest energetically the unilateral measures taken by the the Congress and government of the United States that exacerbate the persecution and abusive treatment against Mexican workers without documents.

The insensitivity shown toward them, who contribute so much to the American economy and society, has been an incentive to redouble the struggle for the recognition of their enormous contribution to the economy of both nations and for the defense of their rights.

Therefore, the government of Mexico will continue to firmly insist, before the societies and governments of both countries, on the necessity of a comprehensive migratory reform and on the categorical rejection of the construction of a wall on our common border.

“The Race” Threatens To Nix Its ‘09 Convention In Kansas City, MO

Fresh from her Wave of Hatetirade in Miami, La Raza President Janet “The Mouth” Murguia brought her anarchist road show to the Midwest and spouted off about how increased enforcement of our immigration laws is intimidating and harassing illegal aliens.

And it could cost the city famous for barbecuing anything that doesn’t move about $15 million.

Speaking to a standing room only crowd of about 35 people, Murguia whined:

“It’s a dark moment in our history,” Murguía said. “We are in real trouble. … This is not just a political debate anymore . . . It’s now getting personal, [President of National Council of La Raza warns of anti-immigration sentiment, by Joyce Tsai, Kansas City Star, Sept. 1, 2007]

What has The Mouth so agitated is the refusal of Mayor Mark Funkhouser to rescind his appointment of Frances Semler, who is a member of the “controversial” and “militant” Minutemen Civil Defense Corps, to the city’s park board. That’s right, folks. Semler, who is in her early 70s, in Murguia’s opinion, is unfit to carry out her park board duties because she (Gasp!) is part of an organization that supports the goofy idea that our federal government is supposed to enforce its own immigration laws. Adding salt to Murguia’s wounds is last week’s directive from Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt that the Missouri Highway Patrol check the immigration status of anyone (Tsk! Tsk!) who is arrested and in some cases, only stopped.

Whether The Race makes good on its threat to move its annual anti-American convention remains to be seen (it would cost $70,000 to back out of its agreement with the city), but stay tuned because, as you would expect, Murguria has friends in KC who already are breaking a sweat over the idea all those empty hotel rooms would give the city a black eye, you know, create the impression that the city is no longer an “immigrant friendly” community.

Among those local principled politicians standing with Murguia is Kansas City Councilwoman Beth Gottstein:

“If you have to come back to make that announcement (that you’ve chosen not to have the convention in Kansas City), I will stand with you,” Gottstein said. “We know we are right on this.”

Memo to Ms. Gottstein: I believe you need to explain to your constituents why they should feel comfortable living in a city that welcomes with open arms thousands of members of an organization calling itself The Race, which promotes disrespect for our immigration laws and sovereignty, and calls for the removal from office a woman who supports the rule of law.

The Essential Evil Of The Swiss (According To The Associated Press)

If this AP “news” article had been an online debate, Godwin’s Law would have been invoked in the first 100 words.

The Associated Press reminded us on Saturday, September 1, the 68th Anniversary of Nazi Switzerland’s invasion of Poland, that the Swiss are still a bunch of Nazis. Let us never forget how the Swiss Nazi juggernaut steamrollered across Europe and is just waiting to pounce once again:

Swiss deportation policy draws criticism

By FRANK JORDANS, Associated Press Writer

GENEVA - The campaign poster was blatant in its xenophobic symbolism: Three white sheep kicking out a black sheep over a caption that read “for more security.” The message was not from a fringe force in Switzerland’s political scene but from its largest party.

The nationalist Swiss People’s Party is proposing a deportation policy that anti-racism campaigners say evokes Nazi-era practices. Under the plan, entire families would be expelled if their children are convicted of a violent crime, drug offenses or benefits fraud.

The party is trying to collect the 100,000 signatures needed to force a referendum on the issue. If approved in a referendum, the law would be the only one of its kind in Europe.

“We believe that parents are responsible for bringing up their children. If they can’t do it properly, they will have to bear the consequences,” Ueli Maurer, president of the People’s Party, told The Associated Press.

Ronnie Bernheim of the Swiss Foundation against Racism and Anti-Semitism said the proposal was similar to the Nazi practice of “Sippenhaft” — or kin liability — whereby relatives of criminals were held responsible for his or her crimes and punished equally.

Similar practices occurred during Stalin’s purges in the early days of the Soviet Union and the 1966-76 Cultural Revolution in China, when millions were persecuted for their alleged ideological failings.

“As soon as the first 10 families and their children have been expelled from the country, then things will get better at a stroke,” said Maurer, whose party controls the Justice Ministry and shares power in an unwieldy coalition that includes all major parties.

He explained that his party has long campaigned to make deportation compulsory for convicted immigrants rather than an optional and rarely applied punishment.

The party claims foreigners — who make up about 20 percent of the population — are four times more likely to commit crimes than Swiss nationals.

Bernheim said the vast majority of Switzerland’s immigrants are law-abiding and warned against generalizations.

“If you don’t treat a complicated issue with the necessary nuance and care, then you won’t do it justice,” he said.

Commentators have expressed horror over the symbolism used by the People’s Party to make its point.

“This way of thinking shows an obvious blood-and-soil mentality,” read one editorial in the Zurich daily Tages-Anzeiger, calling for a broader public reaction against the campaign.

So far, however, there has been little popular backlash against the posters.

“We haven’t had any complaints,” said Maurer.

The city of Geneva — home to Switzerland’s humanitarian traditions as well as the European headquarters of the United Nations and the U.N. Refugee Agency, or UNHCR — said the campaign was likely to stir up intolerance.

The UNHCR said the law would run contrary to the U.N. refugee convention, of which Switzerland is a signatory.

But observers say the People’s Party’s hardline stance on immigration could help it in the Oct. 21 national elections. In 2004, the party successfully campaigned for tighter immigration laws using the image of black hands reaching into a pot filled with Swiss passports.

“It’s certainly no coincidence that the People’s Party launched this initiative before the elections,” said Oliver Geden, a political scientist at the Berlin Institute for International and Security Affairs.

He said provocative campaigns such as this had worked well for the party in the past.

“The symbol of the black sheep was clearly intended to have a double meaning. On the one hand there’s the familiar idea of the black sheep, but a lot of voters are also going to associate it with the notion of dark-skinned drug dealers,” said Geden.

The party also has put forward a proposal to ban the building of minaret towers alongside mosques. And one of its leading figures, Justice Minister Christoph Blocher, said he wants to soften anti-racism laws because they prevent freedom of speech.

Clearly, their support for freedom of speech proves that Nazi blood still runs thick in Swiss veins.

ICE chills enforcement: immigration lawyer applauds.

The federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement outfit (ICE) is doing a fine job enforcing the borders and deterring immigrants.

That is, if you include its efforts to avoid having local law enforcement departments move into policing immigration laws, a function expressly permitted under Section 287(g) of the 1996 Immigration and Nationality Act:

Hall County Sheriff Steve Cronic… whose jail has an average of 225 foreign nationals booked in each month, says he’s tired of inaction by federal officials when it comes to deporting accused lawbreakers who are in the country illegally. Now he wants his deputies to start the deportation process themselves…

Only a select list of law enforcement agencies have an official memorandum of understanding with Immigration and Customs Enforcement that allows deputies to use the provisions of 287(g). The Hall County Sheriff’s Office is one of 67 law enforcement agencies from across the nation on a waiting list of applicants. Cronic has been waiting since February…
Federal officials have cited a budget shortfall for the training and computer equipment required for the program, and have said Hall County might get word on its application by October, when the new fiscal year begins…. Cronic …has one senior staff member phone federal officials once a week to remind them.

Hall sheriff: Deport illegal immigrants By Stephen Gurr gainsvilletimes.com Sunday September 2 2007.

A good deal is at stake here

In Hall County, where 20 percent of the 500-bed jail population is foreign, deporting every illegal immigrant arrested could have widespread implications.

Nevertheless, a member of the local legal establishment was hyperbolic in opposition:

Gainesville immigration lawyer David Kennedy calls Cronic’s proposal to use the powers of 287(g) “a terrible idea.”… Kennedy said using federal resources to deport mostly Hispanic laborers is wasteful in the post-9/11 era.
“We have bigger fish to fry,” Kennedy said. “Wasting national security resources by targeting dishwashers and yard men is bordering on treason.” (VDARE.com emphasis)

As I have noted before, there is a distinct pattern of those seeking professional employment by immigrants to be lurid in their denunciation of patriotic measures. Complain to David Kennedy
