Jose Medellin In His Own Words

The Jose Medellin case Brenda Walker wrote about recently, in which George Bush is defending a murderer from the state of Texas, in the name of better international relations, turns out to be something I wrote about in 2005. This from “The Fulford File”, May 26, 2005 Bush Caves To Mexican Murder Lobby, Orders Retrial For Jose Medellin

Here’s Medellin in his own words:

“My name is Jose Medellin, I am currently being held on Death Row, in the State that is at the top of the list for Death Row population, 453, executions this year: 26, as of 9/14/99. The State and government that also executes its children, its retarded, its poor. This state is the Lone Star State of Texas!

“I am a Mexican national. I came to Texas as a young boy along with the rest of my family. Not like many that are not proud of their country and want to get away. But just took a chance and opportunity at a brighter future. I am a Mexican through and through!…
“I dropped out of school in the 9th grade, not because I couldn’t handle the work, because if you give me the time of day, you’ll see that I’ve quite intelligent.

“I had a plan, get my GED and go home to join the Mexican military, would have joined here, but I’m a Mexican, not a traitor :- ) I had everything in order, but as I said, the world takes twists and turns when it gets ready to, no matter if you are ready for the move.
“Don’t feel sorry for me. I’m where I’m at because I made an adolescent choice. That’s it!
“Then after that I’ll be willing to tell you who the boy was that got himself arrested for capital murder. That way you can have a clear understanding of how far I have come.”

Here’s what Medellin did:

“On the evening of June 24, 1993, Jennifer Ertman, 14, and Elizabeth Pena, 16, left a social gathering at a friend’s apartment in Houston. They were taking a shortcut home through the woods, when they encountered Jose Medellin and other members of the so-called ‘Black and White’ gang. All six gang members were engaged in a gang initiation rite for Raul Villareal. The gang had spent the evening drinking and “jumping in” Villareal, requiring him to fight all the other members until he lost consciousness.
After stumbling across the Black and White gang, each girl was repeatedly raped by the gang for the next hour. The girls were then strangled, beaten, and kicked to death.

That crime, which he doesn’t deny, is the “adolescent choice” he made, and why he was sentenced to death.

“Migrant Air”–Flying Illegals To The Border

Part of the massive Mexican illegal alien industry.

Discount airlines fly migrants to U.S. border - USATODAY.com

By Chris Hawley, USA TODAY
MEXICALI, Mexico — New Mexican discount airlines are using rock-bottom fares to cater to legal and illegal migrants heading for the USA.

The airlines — known among fliers as Aeromigrante, or “Migrant Air” — take passengers from central or southern Mexico to cities along the northern border such as Tijuana and Mexicali. From there, customers make their way across the U.S. border.
Visitors observe a Volaris airplane at the Ciudad de Toluca airport, Mexico.
The flights are part of a booming services industry for the estimated 13 million Mexican and Central American migrants who reside in the USA. Passengers who used to make bus trips of several days can arrive at the border well-rested for the often dangerous crossing

A spokesman for Avolar Airlines said that “The most productive routes we have are cities where you have those passengers who are traveling with the idea of the American dream.” (Actually, the Mexican dream of living and working in America.)

Pittsburgh-Tribune Review On Subsidizing Illegals

Dimitri Vassilaros of the Pittsburgh-Tribune Review has a story about the decision by Mayor William D. Euille and the City Council of Alexandria, Virginia to continue to “reach out” to illegals, but not to “reach out” to the immigration authorities. His story features a quote from Peter Brimelow.

This is a flagrant attempt to commandeer taxpayer dollars to subsidize colonization, says Peter Brimelow, editor of the immigration Web site vdare.com.

“The mayor says, ‘We are reaffirming and recommitting our services and outreach to international citizens.’ ” Mr. Brimelow asks, “What’s an international citizen?”[Subsidized illegals' colonization, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, October 12, 2007]

Read the whole thing, and ask yourself why is it that you get better immigration reporting from the Pittsburgh-Tribune Review than from the New York Times?

One-Worlder Economy Celebrated

A gaggle of wealthy tech-elites met recently in Berkeley to preach the gospel of what made them rich. Big hint: employing Americans was not their ticket to success.

But do the A-list leaders of Silicon Valley feel they are screwing the citizen middle class? Heck no. They are the vanguard of the future! The forward-looking executives aren’t exploiting cheap immigrant labor: they are “bringing in talent” and striving to “encourage innovation.”

[Cllinton economic advisor Laura] Tyson projected current globalizing trends into the future and onto the map - which today is marked by national borders that may be less relevant in a 24/7 networked world.

“Over the next 50 years, a much more multilateral or cooperative global government” could arise, she speculated, because cross-border economic agreements will make more sense than “flat governments.” [...]

She also said the danger from income inequality would be political in that “if the middle (class) feels itself at risk,” that could weaken support for globalism and embolden protectionists.
[Charlie Rose talks to Silicon Valley leaders about political protectionism San Francisco Chronicle, October 12, 2007]

Funny how the elites and the media have made “protectionist” and variations thereof to be a negative term. Wouldn’t protecting America and its economy be a good thing?

Not when there are billions of dollars to be made from globalization, from outsourcing to open borders. At least in the minds of the robber barons of the 21st century.
