Linda Thom Reports From Sea-Tac on the War On Christmas

Linda Thom writes:

On Tuesday last, my husband and I flew from SeaTac airport in Seattle to third-world LAX.  As we were short of time, I skipped looking for the blue holiday poles reported by the Seattle Post Intelligencer and simply looked around at the airline counters at check-in.

The Sun Air desk sports a Ch……. tree.  Ornaments and artificial snow flakes decorate the Delta counter.  At the Korean Air counter, behind the all Korean staff, hangs a glittery, MERRY CHRISTMAS.  I didn’t notice any protesting Buddhists.

Linda Thom reporting from the Evergreen State with lots of Ch…….trees.

82% Of Top 100 Liberals Are White And 81% Male

A point I’ve made repeatedly is that at the upper reaches of American life, status competition is overwhelmingly a white vs. white struggle, with nonwhites playing largely token roles. For example, 99% of Fortune 500 CEOs and 94% of studio movie screenwriters are white (and typically male).

Audacious Epigone documents this for politics by figuring out the demographics of the London Daily Telegraph’s list of the 100 most influential American liberals and 100 most influential American conservatives. Who’s on the list and in what order they appear is arguable (that’s one purpose of these lists — to generate arguments).

But these kind of lists are very useful for advancing demographic understanding because they typically are developed for other purposes than to advocate a particularly point about demography. They don’t have to be all that accurate to give a reasonable picture of elite demographics.

So, what we find is that whites and males still dominate on both sides of the ideological divide:

Attribute Liberal Conservative
Average Age 58 years, 7 months Just under 58 years
Male 81% 93%
Female 19% 7%
Outed homosexual 3% 2%^

Mormon 1% 3%
Orthodox 3%* 0%

Black 14.5% 3%

Mexican UN Official Calls for Republican Defeat

Jorge Bustamante, a Mexican who somehow became the United Nations’ “Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights of Migrants” has openly called for a Republican defeat in the 2008 election .

Here’s the entire blog entry from Jeremy Schwartz’s “Uncovering Mexico” blog :

Mexico’s foremost expert on immigration is calling on Mexicans to do whatever they can to stop Republicans from winning the White House next year, including a boycott of companies that donate to Republican candidates.

Jorge Bustamante,[Email] the United Nations’ Special Rapporteur on the human rights of migrants and a sociology professor at the University of Notre Dame, [VDARE.com Note: The one in South Bend, Indiana.]this week called Republican Party policies on immigration “immoral.” Writing in the Mexico City daily Reforma, Bustamante said the Republican candidates share in a immigration stance that “lacks even the most minimum recognition of the demand for the Mexican migrant labor.”

He called on Mexicans to harness “the real power we have as consumers” to boycott big companies that do business in Mexico and fund Republican candidacies. Bustamante didn’t name any particular companies, but said “that is public information available to anyone with basic understanding of how to navigate the Internet.”

Somebody ought to ask the Republican candidates what they think of this.
