Registered To Vote In Two States

An Indiana voter mentioned by voter ID opponents is registered to vote in two states–but only one country. Some people are registered to vote in both the US and Mexico. If you haven’t read Peter Gemma’s article Abolishing America (contd.): Supremes Hear Indiana Anti-Illegal Voter Case, now would be a good time to do so.

Voter cited by opponents of Indiana’s ID law registered in two states

WASHINGTON – On the eve of a hearing before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Indiana Voter ID law has become a story with a twist: One of the individuals used by opponents to the law as an example of how the law hurts older Hoosiers is registered to vote in two states.

Faye Buis-Ewing, 72, who has been telling the media she is a 50-year resident of Indiana, at one point in the past few years also claimed two states as her primary residence and received a homestead exemption on her property taxes in both states.

Monday night from her Florida home, Ewing said she and her husband Kenneth “winter in Florida and summer in Indiana.” She admitted to registering to vote in both states, but stressed that she¹s never voted in Florida. She also has a Florida driver’s license, but when she tried to use it as her photo ID in the Indiana elections in November 2006, poll workers wouldn’t accept it.

Subsequently, Ewing became a sort-of poster child for the opposition when the Indiana League of Women Voters (ILWV) told media that the problems Ewing had voting that day shows why the high court should strike it down.

But Indiana Republican Secretary of State Todd Rokita said Monday that Ewing’s tale illustrates exactly why Indiana needs the law. “This shows that the Indiana ID law worked here, which also calls into question why the critics are so vehemently against this law, especially with persons like this, who may not have a legal right to vote in this election,” Rokita said.[More]

Ron Paul Vs Obama, McCain, Hillary And The Rest

Steve Sailer’s two posts on the Obama family remind us of the level of opposition research that’s not being conducted by the MainStream Media on the mainstream candidates. While James Kirchick [send him mail] was searching for the two university libraries that have backfiles of the Ron Paul Report from the seventies, few mainstream reporters have actually read Obama’s Dreams From My Father, which is still on bookstore shelves, and which is so revealing that when Steve Sailer wrote about it, various PC types wanted him stopped from doing so.

Or how about this, written 2000 by Steve Sailer:

Senator John McCain’s appeal stems in large part from the fact that nature and cruel nurture have fashioned him into the Senate’s finest hater. He hates the “gooks,” the Serbs, the special interests, the cigarette makers, anybody who opposes him, and on and on.

This kind of man can be hugely useful. If, say, extra-terrestrials bearing “To Serve Man” cookbooks were invading, there is no one better suited to lead us Earthlings against the space gooks in a war of racial extermination. In these less-desperate times, though, most of his longtime colleagues in the Senate seem to dread the idea of such a hate-filled man becoming President.

On the other hand, the bigfoot reporters who ride with him in the back of his campaign bus and listen to Senator McCain’s non-stop John Rocker-style diatribes have fallen madly in love with him, on the Straight Talk Express they get to hear those meaty truths that can’t be uttered in their own feminized, racially-sensitized newsrooms. The reporters don’t report 95% of what the candidate tells them because, of course, the hoi polloi couldn’t be trusted to listen in on such inflammatory statements.[04/14/00 - John McCain - Licensed to Hate, VDARE.com]

Let’s see Kirchick investigate that!

More Obama Family Mania

It’s been a busy day here at the Institute for Advanced Obama Relations Studies.

After I discovered the identity of Obama’s estranged half-American half-brother Mark earlier this evening, readers alerted me to the BBC story that the losing presidential candidate in the recent Kenyan elections, Raila Odinga, the Luo leader who has helped stir up so much violence (600 deaths) in the wake of his dubious defeat, today claimed he is Obama’s first cousin!

Following a couple of calls from Obama, which Obama’s spokesman acknowledged, Odinga asserted that he was Obama’s father’s sister’s son.

There’s certainly a striking contrast between Odinga and Obama’s half-brother Mark, who has kept completely quiet about being the half-brother of one of the world’s most famous men.

European monarchs were always related to each other across national boundaries, with lots of consequences. It would certainly make the future more, uh, interesting if the American and Kenyan elites were closely linked by blood. (more…)

Britain: Pakistanis Miffed at Polish Immigrants

Here’s an item for the rainbow kumbaya file, from rapidly diversifying Britain.

The local Pakistanis now residing in Yorkshire are decidedly unwelcoming to their new immigrant neighbors from Poland.

A clash of cultures between Asian and eastern European youths is leading to increasing tension and violence on Yorkshire’s streets, it is claimed.

Some young Britons of Asian descent are now leading a campaign of intimidation against the new economic migrants from eastern Europe, whom they claim are taking their jobs. [...]

One Asian scholar at a Bradford mosque, who did not want to be named, said: “A lot of Polish people are coming into Bradford at the moment and unfortunately we’re seeing Muslim boys breaking their windows. They’re complaining that the Polish people are coming in and taking their jobs.

Funny how immigration looks different when you are the one on the losing end.

It’s also interesting that politicians are willing to speak out against Polish immigrants, while they have been less courageous in the face of hostile Muslims who kill infidels at the drop of a turban.

Conservative MP for Shipley Philip Davies clarified that the problem was not race, but numbers:

“We cannot cope with the numbers coming in from eastern Europe, it places huge tensions in communities, it puts pressure on housing, health services and schools, and as we’re seeing, creates all sorts of problems.”

I couldn’t have put it better myself!

I’ve Uncovered The Identity Of Obama’s Estranged Half-Brother

Perhaps the most poignant and telling episode in Barack Obama’s 1995 autobiography, Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance, is the story of his first and last meetings two decades ago with his doppelganger, his estranged half-brother Mark, who was then a physics student at Stanford.

Like Obama, Mark is also a son of Barack Obama Sr. and a white American woman. But, as the excerpt from Obama’s memoir below shows, Mark’s individualism, well-adjusted personality, and lack of black racialism disturbed Obama because, while Mark looks much like him, Mark’s values are different. After their lunch in Nairobi in the late 1980s, Obama cut off ties with Mark.

I’ve now figured out who Mark is. Here’s his picture, with his eyes blanked out to preserve his privacy. [We've removed it because of privacy concerns.]He may have earned an MBA, and he appears subsequently to have had a long career in high technology and other industry. He lives and works abroad, neither in America nor in Africa. I’m not going to reveal his surname. It’s not “Obama.”

There’s no evidence on the Internet that Mark has ever attempted to boost his career by calling attention to the fact that he’s the half-brother of a potential President of the United States. This is in sharp contrast to Billy Carter (Billy Beer and a dubious loan from Col. Gadaffi) and Donald Nixon (Nixonburger and a dubious loan from Howard Hughes). So, I’m not going to drag him into the madness of the campaign. (more…)

Bilingual Happy Holidays

I subscribe to Spanish On Patrol’s “Word of the Day”–I don’t actually speak Spanish, so I rely on our many Spanish speakers here to get it right, and I work with Google Translate, et cetera, but it’s fun to learn new word. (Although it’s not going to save life, the way it might for the police officers and correctional officers that are the main customers of Spanish On Patrol.

Please note that while it says “Happy Holidays” in English, it says Feliz Navidad, meaning “Merry Christmas” in Spanish. Well, this is why we need to ban Spanish in the workplace–how is the Human Relations Department supposed to know that people are saying something offensive like “Merry Christmas” if people are allowed to talk foreign all the time?

George Will On Immigration And Inequality…Not

George Will claims that the economic picture is not as black as it’s painted:

Edwards and Huckabee lament a shrinking middle class. Well.

Economist Stephen Rose, defining the middle class as households with annual incomes between $30,000 and $100,000, says a smaller percentage of Americans are in that category than in 1979 — because the percentage of Americans earning more than $100,000 has doubled, from 12 to 24, while the percentage earning less than $30,000 is unchanged. “So,” Rose says, “the entire ‘decline’ of the middle class came from people moving up the income ladder.” Even as housing values declined in 2007, the net worth of households increased.[George F. Will - Iowa's Histrionic Hucksters, Washington Post, January 6, 2008;]

How did it happen that the percentage of people earning under $30,000 remained unchanged, while all these hardworking people were moving up? Well, it turns out that millions and millions of poor people have been imported in that period.

And the Winner of the New Hampshire Primary is…the Media!

As I write this, with over 81 percent of the precincts counted, Sen. John “If they want a goddamn fence, I’ll build them a goddamn fence” McCain (Media-AZ) has a five percent lead over former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (down however from an earlier lead of eight percent), 37-32 percent, has been declared the winner of the GOP primary by the media, and has given his victory speech.

This is amazing, when you consider that:
1. McCain is the media’s own Frankenstein monster, created in 2000, and that the media brought his campaign back from the dead months ago, and kept it alive;
2. McCain is fundamentally hostile to the interests of Republican voters. He has waged a long, lonely battle on behalf of media control of elections (aka “campaign finance reform”), and on behalf of the abolition of America through open borders and amnesty for illegal immigrants (aka “comprehensive immigration reform”); and
3. New Hampshire voters are supposedly very hostile towards amnesty and open borders.

The biggest loser in New Hampshire was Mitt Romney, who plowed millions of dollars of his own money into a massive ad campaign, gave a dominant performance–in my opinion, and that of the focus group interviewed by pollster Frank Luntz–in the Fox News GOP debate on Saturday, and emphasized not giving an amnesty to illegal immigrants. If Romney cannot win the January 15 primary in Michigan, where his late father George served as a liberal Republican governor, he is done. (more…)
