Monocultural Marines?

Robin Corkery writes, in response to my Multicultural Marines post yesterday, writes

As Marine, [He served 1960-1963]I’m trying to imagine the reaction to an ad that said something like “Anglo/Celtic and male? Well the United States Marines is the ideal place for you, because we have a tradition of individualism, bravery and loyalty to the nation created by your ancestors“.

The reaction? Probably they’d call on that Colorado lady Democrat who said “How dare you!” to State Representative Douglas Bruce, and have her say it again.

How Nation-States Are Dismantled

The European Union demonstrates how national sovereignty can be erased by unelected transnational bureaucrats, in this case by creating the “Manche Region” out of southern England and the northwestern coast of France: On St George’s Day, EU wipes England off map [Telegraph, UK, April 23, 2008]

The new European plan splits England into three zones that are joined with areas in other countries. [...]

Each zone will have a “transnational regional assembly”, although they will not have extensive powers. However, the zones are regarded as symbolically important by other countries.

German ministers claimed that the plan was about “underlying the goal of a united Europe” to “permanently overcome old borders” at a time when the “Constitution for Europe needs to regain momentum”.

Unlike globalist elites, the people want to keep those “old borders” and the national identity that goes with them. But the Eurocrats couldn’t even allow the English Channel to remain, and had to rename it the meaningless “Channel Sea.” The residents of these two areas have many differences in terms of history, language, religion and culture. The proposal is a blatant attempt to destroy national representative government to the advantage of Brussels bureaucrats.

Citizens of both France and the Netherlands rejected the EU “Constitution” in 2005, but the EU globalists have ignored what voters want. At least some Europeans got to vote to keep their own nation-states, unlike Americans.

In the parallel war against the American nation, on Monday President Bush opened a refurbished Mexican consulate in New Orleans, as well as effused shamefully over the neighboring narco-state and defended NAFTA. The occasion was a meeting of the North American Union principals, only now it has been renamed the North American Leaders’ Summit in order to confuse the electorate.

What Obama Is Really Like Is More Important Than The Issues

Steve Sailer has a post on his own site in which he says:

As you’ll recall, last week, in the 21st Democratic candidates’ debate, the press finally got around to asking Obama repeatedly about some of the evidence that he is (or, perhaps, was) farther to the left than his expensively honed public image would suggest.

When Obama couldn’t come up with reassuring answers, this line of questioning was widely denounced by his supporters. Why is the press wasting time on trivia like who Obama really is, the pundits thundered, when it could be asking important questions, like about the difference in Obama’s and Hillary’s stance on individual mandates in government health insurance plans.

Not only does no one care about that stuff, but they shouldn’t–ask econoblogger Megan McArdle :

You can’t judge a candidate on their policy platform; half of it is shameless pandering with fictional numbers, and the rest of it won’t pass Congress.[ Fight the conventional wisdom (April 22, 2008) ]

She suggests deciding by their voting records. But the fierce whining by Tom Shales, for example, that George Stephanopoulos

looked like an overly ambitious intern helping out at a subcommittee hearing, digging through notes for something smart-alecky and slimy. He came up with such tired tripe as a charge that Obama once associated with a nutty bomb-throwing anarchist.

misses the point entirely. Stephanopoulos is a mainstream media journalist. He’s supposed to slime the candidates–it’s his job. And if he hadn’t been able to figure out for himself that the viewers are more interested in personal scandal than they are in the candidates’ largely imaginary policy positions, he would have learned when he workedin the Clinton White House.

Paul Gets 16% in Pennsylvania, hmmm

Steve Sailer is bored by the Democratic primary, but on the Republican side I think Paul’s result is impressive - irritating that MSNBC apparently didn’t bother to run an exit poll.

Mike Huckabee, who has actually dropped out, got 11% too. This continuing Republican revulsion has to be bad news for McCain.

McCain and both Democratic contenders have reportedly passed the word in Washington that they don’t want any immigration legislation coming up before November i.e. they all want the issue suppressed. Inexplicable that Paul has not yet signed on to the effort to get the SAVE Act to the House floor. His real committment to national sovereignty is the obvious counter to McCain’s questionable military/ patriotic appeal - or what Lew Rockwell has decried, unfortunately I believe, as red state fascism”.

Hillary Wins 55-45

Here’s the exit poll.

I didn’t pay that much attention to the Pennsylvania primary, but judging from the demographics of who voted for whom, it strikes me that they could have held this election six weeks ago and gotten the same results. This election is about identity, not about surface issues.

“How Dare You!” Illiterate Peasants And Republican Cowardice

Someone said something they weren’t supposed to, ["I don't think we need 5,000 more illiterate peasants in Colorado," ]and it’s a major media event.

DENVER (April 21) - A Colorado legislator known for kicking a photographer was ordered to leave the podium of the state House of Representatives on Monday because he called Mexican workers “illiterate peasants.”

State Rep. Douglas Bruce, who has a history of provoking controversy, made the comment during debate on a bill that would allow the state to help immigrant workers get temporary federal visas. The measure is intended to ease a shortage of farm workers in the state.

“I would like to have the opportunity to state at the microphone why I don’t think we need 5,000 more illiterate peasants in Colorado,” Bruce said.

His outburst drew an audible gasp from the House.

“How dare you,” said state Rep. Kathleen Curry,[Email] a Democrat who was serving as chairwoman during the debate. She told the Republican lawmaker he was no longer recognized to speak.

House Minority Leader Mike May,[Email] head of the GOP caucus, said legislative leaders were trying to determine what action to take against Bruce.[More]

It’s not the Democratic reaction that’s the problem here–we know the Democrats benefit by the immigration of illiterate peasants, and we know that political correctness is the Democrats way of trying to emasculate debate, for example about whether the immigration of illiterate peasants is a good thing. But why is the Republican House Minority Leader trying to take action against a member of his own party? Does he like being in the minority?

AP writes

The Mexican Consulate in Denver did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

If they call back, ask them about their program for returning migrants, called Project Paisano, and their program for entering illegals, which is communicated to the “illiterate peasants” in the form of a comic book.
