It’s the Turnout, Stupid!

As Marcus Epstein has noted, the MSM news channels are being swamped by stories about the Hispanic vote, most of them tendentious and inaccurate.

You might think the white vote does not matter. And, in fact, to most of those in control of the MSM, it indeed does not - or, perhaps rather, they (and apparently the Republican Establishment) desperately want to ignore it.

Here at VDARE.com, we await Steve Sailer’s analysis of the vote, confident that it will be authoritative and myth-slaying.

But an important point has been reported by CNNPolitics.com

Report: ‘08 turnout same as or only slightly higher than ‘04 From CNN Associate Producer Martina Stewart November 6, 2008

A new report from American University’s Center for the Study of the American Electorate concludes that voter turnout in Tuesday’s election was the same in percentage terms as it was four years ago — or at most has risen by less than 1 percent….

The report released Thursday estimates that between 126.5 and 128.5 million Americans cast ballots in the presidential election earlier this week. Those figures represent 60.7 percent or, at most, 61.7 percent of those eligible to vote in the country

“A downturn in the number and percentage of Republican voters going to the polls seemed to be the primary explanation for the lower than predicted turnout,” the report said. Compared to 2004, Republican turnout declined by 1.3 percentage points to 28.7 percent, while Democratic turnout increased by 2.6 points from 28.7 percent in 2004 to 31.3 percent in 2008.”

The 2008 election story is simple. Obama got out the Black, Brown, and anti-white vote. The Republicans did not get out the White vote.

A lot of ink is shed on the vote split. Turnout is almost always neglected. Yet this is where the mother lode of fresh votes lies.

And why did the Republicans fail to turn out their vote? Clearly by nominating a RINO who threw away the issues the base cared about.

Football Team owners have a good way of dealing with this type of situation.

Enforcement Works In Arizona, With The Aid Of The Local Police

Arizona shows that enforcement works, particularly when federal and state governments work together.

The federal government deported nearly 73,000 illegal immigrants from Arizona in the past fiscal year, a record number that immigration officials said resulted largely from state and local authorities being allowed to enforce immigration laws.

The 72,955 immigrants deported from Arizona marked a 64 percent increase from the 44,376 deported the previous year, according to statistics from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Arizona led the nation in deportations, making up about a fifth of the total 349,041 illegal immigrants deported nationwide, ICE officials said. The fiscal year ended Sept. 30. [With local police support, Ariz. deportations soar, November 8, 2008]

Arizona has been leading the way, as shown in the recent election. Maricopa County voters returned tough enforcers Sheriff Joe Arpaio and County Attorney Andrew Thomas to office. The state defeated Proposition 202 which was designed to gut immigration enforcement while pretending to crack down further on illegal employers.

[Raul] Yzaguirre said Tuesday’s election results show that voters in Arizona remain deeply frustrated over illegal immigration.

“I thought the pendulum was swinging the other way,” he said.[Arizona's election results mean immigration still a key issue.]

Raul thinks that patriotic citizens will forget that our country is being invaded. As if.

Speaking of deportations, the Irish whiners are crying up a river because a few dozen of their tribe got a free ride home:

The total number of deportations of Irish people from the US is also up: in 2006, 41 were deported; in 2007, 53; and so far this year, 58 have been expelled for immigration violations, figures from the Irish consulates reveal.[Rise in number of Irish deported from US, By Conn Corrigan, The Irish TImes, November 4, 2008]

In Turkey, Mega-Sheep Slaughter Heralds President-Elect Obama!

All across the world, admirers of the heroic Change-bringer are paying homage in their own diverse ways. In Turkey, it took a village to slaughter dozens of sheep in honor. (In Muslim society, there’s nothing like mass killing to say Celebration!)

ANKARA, Turkey - Residents of a mainly Kurdish village in southeastern Turkey have sacrificed 44 sheep to celebrate the election of Barack Obama as the 44th president of the United States.

Dogan news agency video Friday shows villagers in Cavustepe village, in the province of Van, bordering Iran, holding Obama posters smeared with blood. In overwhelmingly Muslim Turkey, the practice is believed to protect people or property from bad luck.

The posters read “you are one of us” and “we love you.”

Abdulkerim Kulaz of Cavustepe village says Obama’s election and his Muslim ancestry have excited the villagers. Kulaz says Obama’s election was a “proof of an end to racism in the world.”

I wonder whether Muslim “ancestry” was what the Turks really said they liked about Obama; Daniel Pipes has written that many Muslims see him as one of their own.
