Breakthrough! “Five Muslim Immigrants …”

That’s how the Associated Press article on conviction of the Fort Dix Five (originally the “Fort Dix Six,” but one previously pled guilty to a gun charge) starts out:

Five Muslim immigrants were convicted Monday of plotting to massacre U.S. soldiers at Fort Dix in a case that tested the FBI’s post-Sept. 11 strategy of infiltrating and breaking up terrorist conspiracies in their earliest stages. The men could get life in prison when they are sentenced in April.

The same article is running in the Washington Post, at least in the online edition this afternoon, so the Beltway folks might get a little dose of reality. [Update: Oops! The WaPo has already substituted their own story in that same URL, and its first sentence includes "five foreign-born Muslim men," but that's not at the start of the sentence.]

In the New York Times version, the fact that those convicted are Muslim immigrants doesn’t show up until the third paragraph, but we’ll take what we can get.

Of course, there was a price to be paid by the American nation for those convictions. From the Associated Press story:

The FBI asked two informants — both foreign-born men who entered the U.S. illegally and had criminal records — to befriend the suspects. Both informants were paid and were offered help obtaining legal resident status.

Naturally, the defense lawyers tried to lay the whole thing on the FBI’s informants. But given how the whole affair started, that seems like a stretch:

The yearlong investigation began after a clerk at a Circuit City store told the FBI that some customers had asked him to transfer onto DVD some video footage of them firing assault weapons and screaming about jihad.

Average Verbal IQ Scores In Presidential Elections Since 1976

The long-running General Social Survey includes a 10 word vocabulary test, from which you can roughly estimate IQ over large enough sample sizes. (Of course, it’s biased in favor of people who are smarter with words than with numbers or images.) Audacious Epigone looks up the average IQs of white voters for each Presidential candidate 1976-2004.

Presumably, Republican candidates’ voters generally average higher IQs overall–in the exit polls, GOP voters average higher incomes and very similar education levels to Democratic voters–but all the heat on this issue of who is smartest is generated among white people. When white Democrats go on and on about how Democrats are smarter than Republicans, they aren’t thinking about all the blacks who turned out to vote for Obama this year–e.g., in California, where Obama got 61% of the vote but gay marriage, despite the best efforts of Hollywood, got only 48%–which Hollywood has ever since been blaming on media domination by the Elders of Mormon). In the 2008 exit poll, there was virtually no difference in years of education claimed among Obama and McCain supporters when aggregated across all races.

No, white Democrats only care about being smarter than white Republicans.

Audacious’s analysis found several things of interest. On an IQ scale where the white average is set at 100, all candidates’s voters since 1976 have averaged over 100. Dumb people don’t vote as much as smart people and undecided swing voters tend to be not very smart either. Thus, the losing candidate in six of the eight elections had a higher IQ set of voters than the winner. In other words, losers tended to wind up with his base of people smart enough to have a fairly consistent ideology, while winners picked up the people who don’t think about politics much and motivated the people sympathetic to his party in the left half of the Bell Curve to remember to show up to vote.

It’s kind of like Jay Leno vs. David Letterman. Dave pitches his show at viewers with a 105 IQ, while Jay aims his show at 100 (I’m making these numbers up but I wouldn’t be surprised if they were pretty accurate). Jay gets bigger ratings.

Third party voters, with the exception of Perot’s, tend to have high IQs.

Republican whites tended to have higher IQs than Democrats in the early years, and as late as 1996, Dole enjoyed a 0.6 point edge over Clinton, but by 2004, Kerry had opened up a 3.9 point gap over Bush.

The future of the GOP would therefore appear to depend upon mobilizing large turnouts among whites with two digit IQs, just as the future of the Democrats depends upon mobilizing, as they successfully did in 2008, large numbers of nonwhites with two digit IQs.

Muslim Terror Trials Update

Good news on the justice front. The Muslim terrorist immigrants, known initially as the “Fort Dix Six”, have been found guilty of conspiring to mass murder American soldiers and could face life in prison. Sweet. In fact, the three Duka brothers were illegal aliens.

(Now they are five; the sixth man pleaded guilty earlier to a lesser charge of gun offenses.)

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — Five Muslim immigrants were convicted Monday of plotting to massacre U.S. soldiers at Fort Dix in a case the government said demonstrated its post-Sept. 11 determination to stop terrorist attacks in the planning stages.

The defendants were acquitted of attempted murder charges but face life in prison for conspiring to kill military personnel. The federal jury spent about 38 hours deliberating over the past six days.

The men lived in and around Philadelphia for years. The government said after their 2007 arrest that an attack had been imminent and that the case underscored the dangers of terrorist plots hatched on U.S. soil.

As I have mentioned before, there have been numerous trials in America of terrorist immigrants, but the dinosaur media rarely covers them from a national security perspective. (See Muslim Terrorists In America Convicted — MSM Not Interested).

Speaking of immigrant terror trials, one of the convicted Florida pipebomb-transporting (”fireworks!”) students from Egypt, Ahmed Mohamed got his prison sentence last week: Former USF student sentenced to 15 years in terror trial [St. Petersburg Times, Dec 19, 2008].

(The photo shows Ahmed Mohamed seated, with his partner in jihad, Youssef Megahed, standing.)

TAMPA - Former University of South Florida student Ahmed Mohamed received a maximum 15-year federal prison sentence Thursday for providing material support to terrorists. [...]

Mohamed admitted in a June plea agreement to creating a YouTube video showing how to turn a child’s remote control toy into a detonator. He told authorities the video was to be used by martyrs fighting “invaders” of Arab countries, including the U.S. military.

For the first time on Thursday, prosecutors displayed the video in court. [Watch excerpts.]

“I admit that this video was something that wasn’t a wise idea,” Mohamed told the judge in a letter read by defense attorney Lyann Goudie. “I never intended to harm anyone in particular. I do apologize. … I am no more than a college guy.”

Right — he was willing to murder any infidel he could find!

Wichita — Beloved Mother Killed by Illegal Alien

Christmas will have a hole in the hearts of the family of Lola Jayne, who was recently killed by a previously arrested drunk-driving illegal alien [Alleged Drunk Driver Was Illegal Immigrant, KSN-TV, Wichita, Dec 19, 2008].

A frustrated family is speaking out after their mother was killed by an alleged drunk driver.  They say they’ve learned the man was an illegal immigrant and has been in trouble with the law before.

It’s all leaving them with questions about why he was allowed to stay in the country, in the first place.

Seventy-five-year-old Lola Jayne was a vibrant mother of eight, married for 58 years. She loved life but understood its dangers.

“My mom and dad would avoid going out on New Year’s Eve, you know, because that’s the time that everyone drinks and drives,” said her daughter, Shelia Reaser.

Yet at 6:30 on a Saturday evening, as she was driving on 21st Street to bingo, the driver of an oncoming car crossed the center line and hit her. She died the next day.

“This should never have happened, never have happened,” said Reaser.

The driver of that oncoming car was 25-year-old Baltazar Marquez, who police say was drunk.

“We’re all devastated and very disappointed in the system,” said another daughter, Linda Stilwell.

Jayne’s family has since learned Marquez was in this country illegally.  He didn’t have a driver’s license or insurance. And he’s been pulled over before.

“Our feelings are why was he not deported at that point,” said Stilwell.

ICE, or Immigration and Customs Enforcement, tells KSN it relies on and encourages individual law enforcement agencies to inform them when they run across immigrants in this country illegally.

The Wichita Police Department, however, says it only notifies ICE if illegal immigrants are involved in felony cases where the suspect poses a severe danger to the community.

According to Jayne’s family, after the first stop Marquez was charged with four misdemeanors.

“He was stopped back in September. Why couldn’t they have taken him in then and my mom would still be alive?” said Stilwell

Alive to enjoy a big family Christmas and to see her granddaughter, who was stricken with bacterial spinal meningitis, enjoy a full recovery.

Instead, the family is left with grief and anger– at the man who allegedly killed their mother and what they say is the breakdown in the system that allowed it to happen.

Lola Jayne was another victim of Washington’s refusal to protect the American people from foreign criminals who enter through open borders.

Paul Weyrich: RIP

On Thursday, conservative activist Paul Weyrich died at age 66. Weyrich is best known for creating the Heritage Foundation and coining the term “Moral Majority.” Yet I believe Weyrich’s greatest contribution to the conservative movement was to force it to address issues that actually had a constituency besides journalists and intellectuals. The New Right of the late 1970s and early 1980s focused on homosexuality, busing, feminism, gun control, the Panama Canal, and other issues that galvanized Middle America; but the establishment conservative movement would rather ignore.

Of course if there is one populist issue that pits Middle America against the establishment, it’s immigration. For the last four years that I’ve been active in the conservative movement; Weyrich has always been one of the more forceful and hard hitting voices against amnesty, and increasing legal permanent and temporary immigration.

Weyrich did not keep his opposition to mass immigration in “safe” terms. He defended European Nationalist parties like the Vlaams Belang, and made it clear that immigration poses demographic concerns,

Many of our United States, especially in the West and Southwest, today are overrun with illegal immigrants, mostly from Latin America. Yet anyone calling for true immigration reform or the actual enforcement of laws already on the books frequently is labeled a racist. Suggesting that it might not be a good idea that the vast majority of public school children in Texas and California are Hispanic and that their parents may or may not be legal immigrants is intolerant and even cruel according to the left-wingers.

Dozens of obligatory tributes to the man have come out of the official organs of conservatism. Hopefully some of them will remember his commitment to patriotic immigration reform.
