Zeituni the Moocher Pops Up in Boston

The press has characterized Obama’s illegal alien aunt as a sad case, presumably worthy of American welfare benefits, which she has been unlawfully receiving for years. The Boston Globe described her as a “frail-looking woman in her late 50s who walks with a cane” (Obama’s aunt back in Boston for deportation hearing).

But a recent interview revealed Auntie Mooch to be looking good, and more or less satisfied with her life on the dole, courtesy of the American taxpayer. She appears happy enough, wearing a fashionable dress and pearls with a bit of leg showing.

With her deportation hearing still six months away, the controversial Kenyan aunt of President Obama has quietly resurfaced in public housing in South Boston, the Herald has learned.

“Beggars can’t be choosers,” Obama’s “Auntie Zeituni” Onyango, 57, told the Herald yesterday with a mischievous smile, wearing a string of pearls and a sleeveless forest-green sheath she said her nephew bought her years before he became leader of the free world.

“I’d like to live in a castle and have a limousine,” she said, “but I don’t. My wealth is my health.”

Zeituni Polly Onyango, the half-sister of Obama’s late father Barack Obama Sr., moved into a discreet apartment complex this past month while she waits to fight a Feb. 4, 2010, removal proceeding brought against her by the Department of Homeland Security in U.S. Immigration Court in Boston.

Onyango, a computer programmer, was ordered to leave the country in 2004 after her request for political asylum from the violence in Africa was turned down. Instead, she stayed illegally and was revealed to be living in government-subsidized housing on Flaherty Way in Southie last October by The Times of London during the final stretch of Obama’s run for the White House.

See, those de luxe American welfare goodies are just too nice to resist.

Obama Aunt Flaunts Status at Inauguration (While Awaiting her Golden Key to the Trough)

Is this the kind of CHANGE the American people voted for? I don’t think so.

Keep in mind that Obama’s aunt is not merely an illegal alien, but an absconder, fleeing from an existing deportation order.

Equal justice under the law has not been the operative mode: Fugitive Obama aunt apparent target in go-easy directive [Tucson News 4, Jan 26, 2009].

WASHINGTON (AP) - A rule quietly imposed by the Bush administration right before Barack Obama was elected president remains in place.

It requires immigration agents to get approval from higher-ups before arresting fugitives in cases where the arrest might generate what Homeland Security terms “negative media or congressional interest.”

The department’s directive was issued October 31st, hours before The Associated Press disclosed the illegal status of Obama’s aunt from Kenya. Zeituni Onyango (zay-TUH’-nee awn-YAHN’-goh), was instructed to leave the country four years ago but never left. She spent time in Boston and is now reportedly living in Cleveland.

She’s fighting deportation and was in Washington for Obama’s inauguration last week.

The White House says it will not get involved, and Onyango’s case will be handled like any other.

The White House won’t have to be involved; the message has been sent to law enforcement to back off. Many of the absconders are violent criminals — killers and rapists and gangsters — so the order may endanger Americans by attaching strings to the arrest of the worst of the worst, apparently to protect the new President’s lawbreaking Kenyan relative. That’s the way it sounds at least, although it’s unclear how major a stand-down has occurred: one report noted that 69 people were arrested by ICE in Dallas earlier this month.

And that’s not all: Auntie Ripoff gets another spin at the wheel (even though her previous request for asylum was denied): Obama’s aunt has immigration hearing in April.

We’ll be watching.

Illegal Immigrants Living In Public Housing While Americans Wait

Another instance of illegals getting benefits that are supposed to go to citizens only is subsidized housing. That subject was highlighted when Obama’s illegal alien aunt, an absconder from a deportation order, was found to be ripping off the taxpayers in Massachusetts for an apartment. She had so much extra money as a result that she donated a couple hundred dollars to her nephew’s Presidential campaign. If BHO has reimbursed the taxpayers of Massachusetts, I haven’t heard of it. See Obama Campaign Knew About Aunt Zeituni In Boston.

Untold thousands of illegal immigrants live in public housing at a time when hundreds of thousands of citizens and legal residents are stuck waiting years for a spot.

Illegal immigrants make up a tiny portion of the 7.1 million people in federal housing, according to government statistics. But authorities may be unaware of thousands more, and critics say no illegal immigrant should get housing benefits.

The issue made headlines in November with news that Zeituni Onyango, an aunt of President-elect Barack Obama, was living in Boston public housing while in the country illegally. [...]

Some prospective tenants and advocates of immigration restrictions are angry about U.S. citizens waiting for housing aid that some number of illegal immigrants are enjoying.

New York City has about 260,000 people in line for housing aid. Chicago recently opened its waiting list for the first time in about 10 years and collected 259,000 names in four weeks for 40,000 slots.

“As long as that waiting list includes American citizens or legal immigrants, there’s no reason an illegal alien should occupy any of that housing,” said Rosemary Jenks, director of government relations for NumbersUSA, a group that supports curbs on immigration.

In San Diego, applicants are told they can expect to wait five to seven years. [Many illegal immigrants live in public housing , January 1, 2009]

Obama Campaign Knew About Aunt Zeituni In Boston

Aunt ZeituniNo surprise that Obama knew all the time about his illegal alien deportation absconder aunt from Kenya now residing on taxpayer expense in Boston public housing. Governor Deval Patrick was in on the scam as well. Due to her illegal freeloading off the public dole, Zeituni Onyango had enough spare cash to (unlawfully) donate  $260 to Obama’s campaign.

Senior aides to Sen. Barack Obama and Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick were aware that Obama’s aunt, Zeituni Onyango, was living in the United States illegally and in a South Boston public-housing project, and were monitoring her at the request of senior Obama campaign officials, according to a current employee for Obama’s key political consulting firm, AKP&D Message and Media.

Back in early 2007, as Obama’s chief campaign strategist David Axelrod was organizing and planning the Obama campaign, he identified Obama’s unique family situation — a number of half-brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, some living overseas — as a potential problem, says an employee for Axelrod’s political consulting firm, and who has done work on the Obama campaign. “Given [Obama's] father’s family history here and in Africa, David wanted the campaign to know who was who, where they lived, and what they were doing. No surprises. We knew she was here illegally. We knew her income levels, but I don’t think anyone from the campaign had had contact with her.”

Instead, according to the source, Axelrod reached out to his former client, Patrick, who had retained Axelrod’s firm for his run for governor. Onyango was living in a state-funded housing project, “so Patrick’s people could just as easily keep track of things, and could do it without drawing a ton of attention,” says the AKP&D Message and Media employee, who requested anonymity as he hopes to get a job in an Obama administration should the candidate win. “If we had Obama people around, the media would probably have found her much sooner. She was in [Obama's] book, it wasn’t like she couldn’t be found.” Indeed, that is exactly how the London Times found her.

While the South Boston housing project is managed by the Boston Housing Authority, it is a state-funded facility, according to the BHA press office, and so it would not be uncommon for state housing officials to be on the grounds or in the area. “Patrick was the go-between, he’s trusted by David and Senator Obama,” says the aide.

In fact, Patrick spent most of the past two or three days stumping for Obama up and down the East Coast. His and Obama’s relationship goes back a couple of decades, and the two actually represented ACORN together in a civil suit back in 1993. Some Republican political operatives believe that Patrick and his political team have been cutouts for un-reported cash distributed to ACORN officials around the country for Democrat “get out the vote” projects.

Some Obama aides believe that Obama was briefed at least twice by Axelrod or campaign manager David Plouffe on the status of family members. “We tracked who was talking to the press, we kept in touch with some of these people,” says an Obama campaign media aide. “Anyone who thinks we didn’t doesn’t understand just how nervous we were about all of these people, particularly the members of [Obama's] father’s family. Axelrod had everything covered.” The aide said she was never present for such a briefing, but “we all knew the candidate’s family was being taken care of, to protect their privacy and try to contain any damage.”

The Obama campaign has denied knowing anything about Onyango’s illegal status or her poor financial situation. [Aunt Zeituni's Protectors, , American Spectator, November 3, 2008]

See also how the Times of Britain traced down the absconder aunt starting with references in Obama’s own book: How The Times followed a trail to find Barack Obama’s aunt. The MSM in America should have dug this up a year ago but has been too deep in the tank for BHO to do any investigative reporting.
