GOP Debate In The Palmetto State! Early Frontrunner: Rudy McRomney!

Bravery? Bravery in the Presidency?

Look at Rudy Guiliani!! The man has a speech impediment to rival Cindy Brady and yet his speeches are chock-full of tongue-twisters and “sally sold seashells” numbers. Hey, that’s pretty brave!

Gracious…abortion, abortion, abortion. Again, I know it’s an important issue but only in the sense that Republicans looking for a “true” Republican candidate will want a strong Pro-Life guy. There are few issues left upon which voters can

(And note to Giuliani: Never debate this issue with Huckabee on this issue…you’ll walk over, but you’re gonna limp back. Governor Huckabee is not only Pro-Life he is very well spoken about it. The most Pro-Choice person in the world could find themselves drawn into a calm, productive debate with Huckabee because he is true believer on this issue and a genuinely compassionate man.)

Finally we arrive at it…The National Question!!

This is Tancredo’s strongest issue–the MSM even calls him the “one hit wonder”–and yet he spent his allocated 30-60 seconds talking around the subject and making a few jokes.

Romney just gave a brilliant answer–people actually applauded him. Here’s the catch: He managed to sound hard on illegal immigrants but also said “they have to get in line like everybody else” for citizenship. Hmm…loosely translated: those here will not be sent back.

Giuliani wants to focus on creating a national database to track illegal immigrants. Yawn…

Ooh….here’s a good one! Should South Carolina be able to fly a Confederate Flag at the Capitol?

McCain said yes…and let’s move on! Good for him!

Global warming…again, yawn. Then again I am one of those consumers who is just out of it where environmental issues are concerned. Like society’s newfound obsession with “Trans Fat”…I don’t even know what that is but KFC is taking it out of their chicken and we just can’t have that, people!

Senator McCain is clearly one of the most experienced men on the stage but for some reason he does not appear comfortable at the podium. He vacillates between pounding the podium to rocking back and forth on his feet. Either way, he’s just not comfy.

Wow…my early prediction for the front-runner after today’s debate is: Rudy McRomney!!

Brownback needs more face time…he could be a real contender if he learns how to capture the sound bite. Brit Hume isn’t tossing enough questions to Brownback, Hunter and Tancredo…and of course he’s practically ignoring Ron Paul.

Back in a minute!

GOP Debate In The Palmetto State! Will There Be A Clear Winner?

Another day, another debate! Tonight is the GOP debate in South Carolina–generally speaking, the first major debate in the South during a Presidential tends to weed the sick and old out of the pack and identify the frontrunners for the rest of the nation.

First of all, Brit Hume? Not a bad choice…then again, I think anybody can do a better job mediating a political debate after what we saw from Chris Matthews last week and by “anybody” I am including this kid I saw yesterday who had both Down Syndrome and Tourette’s Syndrome so that he spat a loud raspberry after every third word–he was also cuter than Matthews!

The first question is of course about the War. Yes, this is an important issue so please don’t misunderstand me when I say “Come on! Talk about anything else, boys! Anything! Talk about the need to legislate sloppy joe recipes for all high school lunch rooms…I don’t care!”

It’s amazing how good these guys are at dodging the issue though…seriously, each of them are very proficient at sounding very well-informed, appearing to have a plan and promising to making a change–without actually saying anything of the sort.

Oh jeez….here we go! Now they’re going to talk about who is more qualified to be Prez based on military experience. “I’ve got two sons in the Army” or “I spent years as a P.O.W (guess who?) or “I once gave my seat on a packed bus to a woman in uniform.”

Yep, that’s quite a range of experience but it doesn’t really mean anything, you know?

Gas prices…no answers worth printing. Moving on the budget and government funding…

OK, Tommy Thompson said “I would automatically have each department come in at 95% of last years budget to control costs.”

Ron Paul disagrees “If you think we can cut budgets without looking first at how we operate, we’re kidding ourselves. We can’t continue to police the world, live as a welfare nation etc. without fixing our spending problems.”

Congressman Hunter is commenting on our trade deficit with China–personally, I think a man who drives a vehicle with more than 250,000 miles on it is the type of guy I would trust to design a budget. He doesn’t just speak a fiscal responsibility, he lives a fiscally responsible life.

So far…aside from the specific questions, I am impressed with Congressman Tom Tancredo’s presence. He is a candidate with the ability to grow and mature throughout the race. For example Gov. Mitt Romney seems too overly positive to the extent that he can only be described at best as….well, vague.

GOP Presidential Debate: Must-Not-See TV

Maybe I’m not the only one surprised by this but did you know there are ten (declared) GOP candidates at this point?

Wow! I knew about Giuliani, Huckabee, Tancredo and McCain - well, McCain always runs…he lives to run…but there are a lot more candidates than I thought. The MSM tends to focus on the Dems–specifically, Clinton and Obama which is funny because before either of them I would probably vote for Jose Canseco even after his campaign pledge to “stay on the Juice.”

Crikey, Senator McCain references his time as a POW in Vietnam almost as often as Senator Kerry mentions his fifteen minutes over there on a boat which is saying something, people. I’m not kidding, the question posed was about stem-cell research and somehow McCain began his response with something like “thank you for welcoming me and my fellow POW’s home…”

Then again, just ask Senator Kerry something simple like whether he wants chicken or fish and his response would be “when I was in Vietnam we didn’t have choices like that…”

McCain said - if elected - he would put a Democrat in a cabinet post…then he mentioned Senator Lieberman - who is not a Democrat, Mr. POW.

Congressman Hunter was asked what the greatest failure of the federal government is (so far) and he said…BORDER ENFORCEMENT!! Good man Charlie Brown!

This is the strangest debate I have ever watched…MSNBC has covered everything from evolution to a Scooter Libby pardon and whether the candidate likes the Mainstream Media. One of these men are potentially the next President of the United States, right?

I don’t care if he believes Zeus created mortal men by breeding fairies with centaurs, I just want to know if he opposes amnesty or not…maybe I’m too provincial.

Giuliani says a tamper-proof identification card is “the most important element of immigration and national security.” Governor Romney agrees…oh where is Tancredo when we neeed him? This question was a great opportunity for Tancredo but…ugh, he didn’t take it!

In response to the national identification card, Brownback says “secure the border with a fence and protect our social security system.”

Yep, so far it is just as I suspected: These guys are avoiding the immigration question…cowards.

Ron Paul….I just love him. He just said “The purpose of government is to protect the privacy of its people, not the privacy of the government.”

Well at least all the candidates seem to agree on one thing! Hilary Clinton (and her husband) in the White House would be a bad, bad thing!

Final Question: How will you be different than President George W. Bush?

Responses:

Romney: “I would take the war on terror and expand it globally.” Wow…
Mc Cain: “I would not have mismanaged the war.” Sure he wouldn’t…
Huckabee: “Honor the 10th Amendment” I want to hear more…
Hunter: “Enforce trade laws” What does that mean???
Tancredo: “No Child Left Behind was over-reaching.” Close…but he blew his chance to hit on immigration.
Giuliani: “We as Republicans need to remind people that President made the right decision in September 2001.” You first, Rudy!
Paul: “Protect the privacy of American citizens.” Nice…

And that’s it. A preview of what’s to come!

Yawn…

P.S. To note: In the aftermath of the debate, Congressman Tancredo expressed his disappointment that immigration reform was not discussed in more detail during the hour and a half discussion.

Goody Goody Gum Drops! Another Illegal Immigration Protest March!

You might ask, and for good reason, why I would be so happy about today’s big event–you know, the latest illegal immigrant nationwide protest march. Easy enough, I’ll tell you!

You see, every time these annoying folk assemble in large numbers chanting about their woebegone lives, more and more people awaken to our cause. More and more people (who might normally be spared the knowledge that millions of illegal aliens have invaded and are taking over America) become outraged enough to get up and do something about it.

You might recall last year at this time I was scheduled to appear on Scarborough Country (MSNBC) but the driver sent by the network could not get into the Los Angeles studios thanks to all the protesters blocking the streets. Yeah, these would be those “hard working people who just come here for work” who in fact are not working but instead preventing me from doing my job.

Yes, I’m still rather bitter about that.

Last year, major cities were handicapped and residents were unfairly inconvenienced. Hundreds of supposedly Latino students skipped school, people walked our streets parading Mexican flags, news stations kept running all the insolent remarks made by the “organizers” or “activists” and thousands of participants wore t-shirts that said “I’m illegal–so what?”

Hopefully much the same will happen this time because as I already said, it makes people angry…angry enough to do something.

I seem to remember legislation floating about Congress last year that would basically grant amnesty to all these people and then somehow, miraculously, the discussion stopped. Places such as Hazleton PA enacted city ordinances to punish illegal immigrants and those who hire them. The small town folk came alive…thank God!

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villarrrrrraigosa and Cardinal Roger Mahony are of course pushing the event but encouraging kids to stay in school–good idea when you consider that Hispanics have the highest drop-out rate among students in California public schools.

For more info click here.

I’ll be watching throughout the day…I’ll let you know how it goes! Keep your fingers crossed for things like Mexican flags and Spanish versions of the National Anthem…real crowd pleasers they are!

Immigration Raids, Skanky Employers And Innocent Kids

Last week, ICE officials raided Michael Bianco Inc. in New Bedford, Mass—a company which specializes in the manufacturing of high-end leather goods such as Coach label handbags and accessories.

After securing several multi-million dollar military contracts for vests, boots, etc. the Michael Bianco company realized they needed more workers to keep up with demand—specifically, they needed more cheap labor by the way of illegal immigrants.

Greedy, greedy, greedy pigs.

Anyhow, a majority of the illegal immigrants busted were women—of course. Several were pregnant and most had small children. This unfortunately always seems to be the case when it comes to ICE raids.

Before I get into that let me say this: the Michael Bianco Company is uniquely pathetic and nasty. These people would actually impose fines against their workers if they committed such offenses as taking to long in the bathroom or (gasp!) talking while they worked.

The fines ranged anywhere from $20 to $50 per offense and increased with each subsequent offense. Good grief! Regardless of the immigration status held by their employees, these jerks should be shut down for sheer cruelty.

These kinds of employment practices should never, never be found in America! Third-world countries or maybe Hell but not America!

In any event, hundreds of illegal alien employees are now being held pending deportation proceedings although a handful of pregnant employees were released for humanitarian reasons.

The question remains: What do we do with the kids?

Some are technically American citizens having been born here and others are too young to be separated from their mama’s.

Already, there are lawyers galore planning their appeals to keep these women (and men) here in the States so as not to separate them from their children. While these proceedings are pending, the kids are either left with relatives or left as wards of the state.

Yes, this is sad. Yes, nobody wants to see these families torn apart.

BUT…who is to blame?

The MSM would have us believe the American immigration system is to blame. The MSM paints these ICE officials as spiteful, unfeeling agents who have nothing better to do than to rip apart families.

The fact of the matter is, these illegal immigrants knew the risks when they snuck into the United States and unlawfully took jobs, rented homes etc.

The fact of the matter is, they don’t have to be separated from their families if they take them with them when they return to their country of origin—most of the illegal immigrants coming from Mexico and Central America.

Even if some of these kids are technically American citizens, they belong with their parents—in Mexico.

If immigration advocates want to avoid traumatic situations such as these, they need to stop immigrants from coming here illegally in the first place rather than crying foul when we enforce our laws.

Bye-Bye N-Word! Hello Censorship!

It was said to be a symbolic resolution and not an actual resolution so I am not sure what we’re really dealing with: Late last week, New York City Council banned the use of the “N-word” because it incites hate and something, something…racism…all the usual comments.

Is the N-word a racial epithet? Sure it is. Is it offensive to some? Sure it is. But it is also just a word.

What’s interesting is that the cause of the commotion does not arise from the general direction of the White community but from Blacks–namely Black rap singers and comedians.

Councilman Leroy Comrie sponsored the umm measure? and says (because it is so often spoken by Black people to Black people) the word is self-denigrating and disrespectful of Black history.

I have absolutely no idea if there is any truth in this and I really don’t care…call it the ugliest word in the English language, I don’t care! What I care about is the latest infringement on the very basic, very necessary freedom of speech that is (or used to be) guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.

By eliminating the “N-Word” from social discourse, Councilman Comrie is hoping to send a message to the next generation of Americans…

Unfortunately, that message may end up being something like: Bye-Bye First Amendment, Hello Censorship!

Catch An Illegal Immigrant: College Republicans Vs. RNC

Hmm…I don’t know what remains in the “guts” department when the Republican National Committee (RNC) takes issue with the College Republicans.

Let me explain: The leadership of any national political committee needs organizations such as those organized by college students and/or young people e.g. College Republicans and Young Republicans. Why? Because they are the very best source of grass roots work–people on the ground willing to walk door-to-door day after day handing out flyers, reminding people to vote and basically volunteering for all of the grunt jobs nobody else is willing to do.

Did I mention they are (for the most part) volunteers. As in, candidates don’t have to pay them.

Smart candidates (as well as the national parties) take very good care of these people.

Some time ago, several College Republican groups started an annual event called “Catch An Illegal Immigrant Day” at various campuses throughout the nation. Not surprisingly, the response has been hyper critical and of course accusations of racism are abundant.

The idea is this: A handful of people volunteer to be INS agents and their objective is to track down another volunteer wearing a badge that says “Illegal Immigrant”. The first volunteer INS agent to find the target wins $50.

Catch An Illegal Immigrant is obviously designed to raise awareness about the illegal immigration problem in America and to get young people talking…about solutions.

This year, NYU participated in the festivities.

Many NYU Students Not Having ‘Immigrant’ Game, College Republicans End Up Rubbing Many The Wrong Way by Tanya Rivero WCBS

Here are some of the responses from the crybaby students:

“It makes me very upset because they are making a game out of such a serious issue,” NYU junior Xinia Bermudez said. “They don’t know the hardships that my mom endured.”

“It’s giving people a bounty to go find the immigrants,” senior Francisco Guzman said. “Really, it’s promoting persecution.”

“There are much better ways of promoting discussion and dialogue,” junior Natalia Ospina said. “It’s hurtful to me, and I’m definitely not an undocumented immigrant. My family is all documented as well, but I think it is very hurtful, very hurtful.”

Even worse, according to the article, “Republican student groups on other campuses have played “Catch The Illegal Immigrant.” In some cases the game sparked just as much controversy, prompting the Republican National Committee to denounce it.”

Persecution? They don’t know the hardships his mother endured?

Oh please!! We have to put up with the immigrant lobby flying foreign flags all over kingdom come, translating the national anthem into Spanish and cramming a seemingly endless list of costly entitlements down our throats every single day.

Well I would call it hurtful. More to the point, I could say they don’t know what my family endured…and by that I mean what they endured (and continue to endure) to keep America free enough for them to fly their foreign flags.

But guess what? Nobody cares…Americans defending their heritage is racism–immigrants defending theirs is a God-given right.

But back to my original point: It does not surprise me that the illegal immigration lobby is having kittens over this game but it angers me to no end that the RNC would feel the need to denounce the efforts of the College Republicans.

Cowards!

Good luck in 2008 without the College Republicans, RNC. You won’t get far…

Is Home Depot Feeling The Heat?

Just hear me out on this…

Home Depot–the world’s largest home improvement store–just announced a 28% drop in fourth quarter profits.

Now then, anybody who has stepped foot in a Home Depot even to just use the restroom knows that these places are manned by the most insufferable band of fools to be found in retail. No–not all of them–there are a few who can make correct change–but a remarkably high percentage ok?

True story: Several years ago I needed to hang some pictures in my house so I went to the HD to pick up some wall screws or whatever you call them. I stopped the first person I identified as a possible employee which is to say the first person I encountered wearing a bright orange apron and a vacant expression.

This is what I said: “Can you tell me where I can find the type of screws to hang pictures…I think they are called ‘wall screws’ or ‘hanging screws’?”

She said “Are they the kind that go in the wall to hang things?”

Holey moley! Can’t get anything past that one!

As much as I want to attribute the HD profit loss to the monkeys running the circus, I don’t think that’s it–I think Home depot is finally feeling the heat. People are fed up with their garbage and taking their money elsewhere.

We’ve all seen the hordes of illegal aliens loitering out front of the stores, waiting for some construction company in need of cheap labor to pick them up. We’ve all seen the love affair between La Raza and Home Depot. We’ve all seen the Home Depot ignore the demands from Americans to stop aiding and abetting illegal immigration.

So people got busy…and started efforts such as Save our State.

Here is the story for more information about the plunge but there is no mention of what caused the 28% loss.

I just know I stopped shopping there for these specific reasons and I refuse to believe I am alone in this. I think we’re making a difference, people! I think we sent a message to Home Depot and all their slippery friends:

If you choose illegal immigrants over Americans, Americans will choose your competitor over you.

Super Bowl Says No Border Patrol Ads

Here’s an interesting story…

The U.S. Border Patrol wanted to run recruitment ads in programs handed out to the 200,000 people who attended the Super Bowl a few weeks ago in Miami. The NFL said no way.

Well, first they said they wanted the USBP to re-word the ad so it didn’t include words such as terrorists, illegal aliens and drug smuggling--they thought the ad would be too gloomy for sports fans. According to the NFL, the USBP never got back to them and so the entire ad was left out.

Yeah right! Now we know what really happened:[NFL Defends Decision Not to Print Border Patrol Ad Recruitment in Super Bowl Program by Liza Porteus FOX News 2/15/2007]

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said they asked for modifications and did not receive them–this may or may not be true, who knows?

At first he said “We were uncomfortable with the copy, which talked about terrorists and their weapons and undocumented aliens and drug smuggling, and for the Super Bowl and our Super Bowl guests, we thought that was a little much.”

Now then, the actual copy from the USBP read “As Border Patrol agents, it will be your responsibility to prevent the entry of terrorists and their weapons into the United States. You’ll help detect and prevent the unlawful entry of undocumented aliens into the United States … [and ] play a primary role in stopping drug smuggling across our borders,” specifically along the southwest border.

But later in the interview he–perhaps unintentionally–revealed the real reason behind the rejection:

“To us, it also raises the immigration issue, which is a very controversial political issue and we wanted to steer clear from that and any perception that we were taking some position on that,” he said.

A Border Patrol ad raises the immigration issue…hmm, who would have thunk it?

And then they talked about a potential National Football League franchise in…Mexico!

“We love Mexico,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said. “We have a great fan base there. It’s growing every day. We are very interested in going back. And we hope to be dealing with the various officials in Mexico to try to get that done for the 2008 season.”

Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic! This is the bottom line:

The National Football League was presented with a choice: To protect America or to profit in Mexico…they chose Mexico…they drew this line in the sand, not us.

I want to see their ratings plummet over this so I have decided to keep the pressure on these fools so nobody (at least our beloved VDARE.com readers) forgets! Stay tuned…

Bank Of America–Greedy, Greedy Pigs!!

It started with Wells Fargo Bank offering mortgage loans and Citibank offering free checking and savings accounts to illegal aliens so I suppose it was only a matter of time…

Bank of America is now offering credit cards to illegal immigrants.

Fox News is all over the story , and that’s wonderful ,but they are reporting the story as though this problem just sprung out of thin air this morning! [Report: Bank of America's New Credit Card Targets Illegal Immigrants , Fox News, February 14, 2007] Maybe it’s just this particular issue but aiding and abeting illegal immigrants has been a problem in this country for a long time.

In-state tuition for illegal immigrants, home loans, welfare, free public education…all aiding and abeting!

Bank of America is just one in a long line of pathetic, greedy financial institutions. Not only are they (in my opinion) breaking the law, they are hardly doing these people a favor. There is no way around it: THEY ARE RIPPING THESE PEOPLE OFF!! TAKING ADVANTAGE OF (WHAT ARE MORE OFTEN THAN NOT) POOR PEOPLE! Yeah, and B of A claims to be helping them…it’s sickening.

First or all, they interest rate for these ards is roughly 21% AND that is in addition to a high annual fee. The applicants must also have had a bank account–either savings or checking.

The bank claims to be helping what they call people without social security numbers (illegal immigrants) by showing them how to establish credit. Hmm…how (and to whom) do they report payments etc. without social security numbers? I do not know of any credit reporting agency that does not maintain files via social security number.

Bottom line: Nobody benefits from this deal except for Bank of America.

Personally, I wouldn’t use Bank of America to make change at this point. I hope Americans say “ENOUGH!!” and avoid B of A like the plague!
