Illegal Aliens Coming From Canada. Are They Canadian? Nope!

Our Border Patrol, ever on the alert, has stopped an illegal entry from Canada. The main entrance by car from British Columbia to Whatcom County in Washington is the Peace Arch entry but trains go north and south across the border so a dude stowed himself in a rail car going from Canada to the U.S. through Blaine, Washington. He was not Canadian. He was Honduran and this is his third attempt to cross into the U.S. illegally. [Stowaway trying to cross border arrested in train car, By Peter Jensen, The Bellingham Herald, October 23, 2009]

I am sorry I am so jaundiced but I really had a laugh about this. My elected officials in Washington believe we need to beef up the northern border to keep out Canadians but here in the Northwest, the place is swarming with illegal aliens from south of the border, not north of the border. Many work in the agricultural fields of Skagit County, for example, and they tend the crops of tulips and daffodils there. These are obviously crops of national necessity and we must continue to have illegal aliens to support our national interest and global domination in the production of tulip bulbs which is second only to Holland.

Population Pressure And Hispanics

I read Steve Sailer’s blog about population and he is right that it is not PC to mention the high birth rates in undeveloped countries or in the U.S either. I’ll bet if one did a Jay Leno interview on the street and asked what racial or ethnic group has the highest teen birth rate, the answer would be “blacks” and that would be wrong.

I went to the Population Reference Bureau (PRB.org) website and read that the teen birth rate for developed countries was 21 per 1,000 women but the teen birth rate for the U.S. is 42 per 1,000 women. I went back to the CDC/NCHS website to the publication I referenced and here are the teen birth rates by ethnicity (again):

All Women

Non-Hispanic White

Non-Hispanic Black

Hispanic

40.5

25.9

60.9

81.7

The Population Reference Bureau did not break out the teen birth rate by race and ethnicity or bother to explain why our teen birth rate is so high. Are we surprised? Nope

The Driving Force in Births to Teens and Unmarried Women?–Hispanics

In a newly released report, Estimated Pregnancy Rates for the United States, 1990-2005: An Update, [PDF]the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) provides details on trends in pregnancies, abortions and live births.

The data table below shows the teen, live-birth rates per 1,000 women in the specified group for the year 2005:

All Women

Non-Hispanic White

Non-Hispanic Black

Hispanic

40.5

25.9

60.9

81.7

Since 1990, the teen birth rate has plummeted from 59.9 per 1,000 women in 1990 to 40.5 in 2005. The primary driver has been the drop among non-Hispanic, Black teens, from 116.2 in 1990 to 60.9 in 2005.

Think how much more the teen birth rate would have dropped if our country was not importing so many Hispanics.

Hispanic women also lead in another unfortunate category, births to unmarried women. The table below shows the birth rate per 1,000 women in the specified group and also by marital status. The numbers are for the year 2005.

Status

All Women

Non-Hisp. White

All Black Women

Hispanic

Married

87.3

85.8

71.9

98.6

Unmarried

47.5

30.1

67.8

100.3

Note that in every group, the live-birth rate for unmarried women is lower than the birth rate for married women, except among Hispanics. The birth rate for unmarried women is 100.3 live births per 1,000 women and the rate for married women is 98.6 per 1,000 women.

Note also that the rate for Black women includes Hispanic women as well as non-Hispanic women. The live birth rate for non-Hispanic, Black women is 48.3 but the NCHS data table showing these numbers does not break out the rate by marital status for non-Hispanic Blacks.

The bottom line is that the live birth rate for unmarried Hispanic women is not only higher than that for married women but also the Hispanic unmarried birth rate is double that of non-Hispanic women.

Think how much lower the birth rate for unmarried women would be if our country was not importing so many Hispanics.

The facts are the facts, folks. These are government facts, neither Democratic nor Republican.

Do you suppose the $PLC will accuse the Nation Center for Health Statistics of racism? Just wondering.

Nobel Prize in Physics And The Border

The Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded this week to three scientists, two of whom invented the charge-coupled device, CCD

This PDF is the public information on the Nobel Prize in physics. Charge-coupled devices have been used for various imaging devices including the Kitt Telescope and the Hubble which are mentioned in the link below. Note that CCD’s can be used in ordinary cameras or in telescopes and in various infrared devices. These cameras are used in satellites and in unmanned drones as well. Night-sight equipment allows folks “to see in the dark” by using infrared images. A warm body can be seen in the cold, dark night.

The Nobel link does not mention spy imaging as one of the uses for CCD’s but it is. When I Googled my rural address a few months ago, I saw an image of my house with a deer in the front yard. . . damn deer. The image was clearly taken by satellite.

The CCD was invented in 1969, forty years ago, so there is no reason that a virtual fence cannot work. It is only a lack of will. If Google can do it, our government can do it. That is not to say that a virtual fence is the best solution to closing our borders. It is simply to state that it is possible despite open-borders noise to the contrary.

Trashing A Beautiful Day In Maryland

In August my family gathered in Maryland for the memorial service for my mother. I grew up there and wanted to say a good bye to my mother and to my beloved Chesapeake Bay so my husband and I extended our trip and drove across the bay bridge to the Eastern Shore. We stopped in the little town of Oxford on the Delmarva Peninsula. We chose Oxford because it is historic and not at all touristy. After walking around town and visiting the history museum, we bought sandwiches at the little grocery store on the main street. The Wikipedia link shows the grocery store in the photo. It’s the building with “ICE” printed on the side.

With our sandwiches in hand, we crossed the street to the town park to view the lovely water scene. As my husband, Rich, and I enjoyed the summer breeze off the water, we heard Spanish voices behind us. I turned and there were four Hispanic men sitting at a picnic table eating their lunch. We sat longer and watched the kids on the swings and adults reading books while keeping an eye on their children. Finally, we got up to leave and the Spanish-speaking men had left their table also. The table was surrounded by trash from their lunch containers even though there were three trash cans in sight where Rich and I had deposited our trash.

The men climbed into a truck labeled Oxford Lawn and Landscaping. Are there no Americans who will do these jobs? . . And I know that Americans toss trash out carelessly because I have done highway cleanup but this whole scene really trashed my otherwise beautiful day.

An Untaught Moment, Again

I had to read Susan Christian Goulding’s column about the murder of a 17 year-old in L.A. several times to see if I could follow the logic. I had a hard time but I think she was saying everybody racially profiles and white men spew like volcanoes but minorities “ever so mildly express sentiments” about bias. [Why does Lily Burk's senseless death affect me so deeply? dailybreeze.com, August 2, 2009 ]Yes, some of the radio talking heads do spew. Are all of them white? If racists spew from a pulpit, is that okay? Just wondering.

But back to the subject. . .in the context of the Gates/Crowley incident, the only volcano spewing was the Professor. Now, there was no audio attached to that photo of the good Prof that spread around the country but he did not appear to be “ever so mildly expressing sentiments.” Gates was spewing. So, MS Goulding [Email her] asks, as an aside in parentheses, “(While we’re on the topic, I’d be curious to know how many of these spewing volcanoes partied at college in all-white fraternities. . .and so on.)” Now, again, is she referring to the spewing Gates? and so on? or to the gentlemanly Crowley? and so on? (What do you suppose that, “and so on” means?)

I suspect that neither Gates nor Crowley went to all-white fraternities. Is that racial- and class-profiling?

So, what does the murder in L.A. have to do with Gates behaving like a jerk and Crowley behaving like a gentleman?

Maybe she was high on something. . . that’s liberal profiling, for sure.

Fewer Illegal Aliens From South Korea = More Legal Immigrants

Well, here is a happy story. [Canadian sentenced to prison for smuggling South Koreans into U.S., By Ian Ith, Seattle Times, July 10, 2009] Illegal aliens from South Korea no longer have to come here and be sex slaves. Because of a US-Korean agreement, the illegal alien business from Korea has dried up. Koreans can come here easily now as legal immigrants. This is the happiest story since Cinderella. Bet this didn’t make your local news.[VDARE.com note: The headline says "Canadian" man, which may conjure up pictures of a hockey player, a Scotsman, or a Ukrainian immigrant, but actually his name is Jin Kyu "Alex" Sohn.]

African Runners And Mexican Racism

Just got my Newsweek and on page 12 is a short piece entitled, “Run to Mexico?” by Alexis Okeowo. It reads in part:

A growing number of international runners are leaving their homelands for an unlikely destination: Mexico. . . .Though the U.S. still boasts more foreign transplants, Mexico’s high altitude, easier visa process and cheaper cost of living are luring some of the sport’s leading figures, including Kenyans Isaac Kimaiyo, Lazarus Nyakeraka and Patrick Nthiwa. Mexico also taxes race winnings by 14 percent, compared with 33 percent in the U.S., which Nyakeraka says makes it a “better option” for runners who send race earnings to family back home.

But there’s an aspect of Mexican culture that doesn’t get reported much:

Yet even as Mexico tries to package itself as a sporting suburb of the U.S., it’s facing one major drawback: racism. African runners complain of constant taunts from fans upset that the newcomers are beating out homegrown favorites. Coaches have complained to officials, to no avail. Last year Kenyan runners won 85 percent of the country’s domestic long-distance races. But organizers have started limiting the number of prizes that Africans can win, regardless of how well they place. In races abroad, all of Mexico’s runners are equal, but at home, it seems that some are more equal than others.

I was pretty surprised that this story saw the light of day, especially in Newsweek.

Swine Flu In The Southwest

Swine Flu is all the news this week. Although the Centers for Disease Control have identified only eight cases in the United States, many cases are active in Mexico. For those who connect the dots, one would imagine that the U.S. cases might be found in high immigration areas and yes, indeed, that would be correct.

On Friday, April 24th, the CDC reported 6 cases in California in San Diego and Imperial Counties. For those not familiar with California, both counties are just north of the Mexican border. The CDC reported that two cases occurred in San Antonio, Texas but they are not in San Antonio, they are in Guadalupe County which is a southern county and is east of San Antonio.

For those not familiar with Guadalupe County, Seguin is one of the larger towns. With apologies to my Texas cousins who live in Sequin, it is nowhere but it is charming in its way. The area is somewhat rural and in the 2000 Census, 90,000 people lived there with a diverse population including 33 percent Hispanic residents.

The public health investigators can find no connection of person-to-person transmission between the flu cases in Texas and California. One might guess, therefore, that the transmission was between Mexican residents and U.S. residents. At least one California victim had just traveled to Mexico. What the investigators did find is that the flu strains in the U.S. and Mexico are genetically related.

Over the week end, two cases showed up in Kansas. The husband visited Mexico for a conference. In New York City the Health Commissioner, Thomas Frieden, said that eight students at a school there appear to have the virus. How interesting that the City of New York has told doctors to be vigilant about any patients who have flu-like symptoms and have traveled recently to California, Texas or Mexico. Two families in Manhattan say that they have flu like symptoms and just recent returned ill from Mexico. So, please, where is our national government warning Americans to be cautious about visiting Mexico?

So far, no one at the CDC or in the main stream media will publicly put two and two together. So like the tomato scare, which was not tomatoes at all, U.S. residents will just have to be patient until it is patently obvious to all what the problem is.

In the meantime, state and local health agency personnel continue to investigate cases and the CDC recommends that residents of Texas and California:

  • ” Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
  • ” Wash your hands with soap and water.
  • ” Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.

In addition, the CDC advises that clinicians should consider the possibility of swine influenza virus infections in patients presenting with febrile respiratory illness who:

  • ” Live in San Diego County or Imperial County,, California or San Antonio, Texas or
  • ” Have traveled to San Diego and/or Imperial County, California or San Antonio, Texas or
  • ” Have been in contact with ill persons from these areas in the 7 days prior to their illness onset.

Never mind that people who have contacted Mexicans might also be in danger. And, what about staying out of Mexico? Are there any suggested prohibitions from the Feds about traveling there to avoid being infected with the virus? No, no restrictions are in order according to the CDC, as investigators cannot definitively connect the U.S. cases and the Mexican cases.

Oh, really? Must be the tomatoes that caused it or maybe it was the cilantro or the jalapenos. How is it that health officials in New York City say that those who visit California, Texas or Mexico should be aware and our national government stays silent? Just wondering.

Non-Washingtonian Rape Suspect Fled To Mexico. (Duh!)

Earlier this month, I sent the letter below to the local newspaper. It was published although the editor changed Immigration and Customs Enforcement to lower case letters. They are sort of clueless up here where I live. Today I picked up my copy of the biweekly paper and the headline on page A2 reads, “Child rape suspect likely fled to MexicoVicente Campos-Duenes.” Too bad I don’t work for the Sheriff’s Department. Linda

To the Editor, Whidbey-News Times:

The article, “Rape suspect leaves trail of evidence” describes Vicente Campos-Duenes, the suspect, as “a Renton man.” He is not from Renton although he may have lived there. He is from Mexico as his wallet, found at the scene, contained “a Mexico federal ID card.”

These cards are usually held by Mexicans living in the U.S. illegally. They use them to get drivers’ licenses, open bank accounts and obtain taxpayer ID’s and employment. Mexicans legally in the country have green cards or U.S. visas or some other valid, U.S. ID showing the right to be in our country.

The Island County Sheriff might do well to contact Immigration and Customs Enforcement to prevent Campos-Duenes from fleeing to Mexico. Hopefully, that has already been done.
