Muslim Suspect’s Murder Motive Radically Unknown

Here’s the AP:

Details emerge about Fort Hood suspect background

By BRETT J. BLACKLEDGE (AP) – 1 hour ago

WASHINGTON — His name appears on radical Internet postings. A fellow officer says he fought his deployment to Iraq and argued with soldiers who supported U.S. wars. He required counseling as a medical student because of problems with patients.

There are many unknowns about Nidal Malik Hasan, the man authorities say is responsible for the worst mass killing on a U.S. military base. Most of all, his motive.[More]

The word Muslim, which you’ll notice does not appear as a modifier to the word “radical” in “radical Internet postings”. The word Muslim first appears in this story 365 words down, in reference to the fact that Islam is unpopular in the army.

In an interview with The Washington Post, Hasan’s aunt, Noel Hasan of Falls Church, Va., said he had been harassed about being a Muslim in the years after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks and he wanted out of the Army.

“Some people can take it and some people cannot,” she said. “He had listened to all of that and he wanted out of the military.”

There’s more about the Muslim background, but they’re still radically puzzled about his motive.(The photograph above shows Nidal Malik Hasan wearing Muslim dress in 7-Eleven on the morning of the attack.)

Allahu Akbar! Fort Hood Shooter Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan is Alive; Islam Had Nothing to Do with It

Contrary to initial reports, the Fort Hood shooter, Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, is alive. He was shot by a civilian police officer, Kimberly Munley, whom he wounded. Officer Munley is reportedly “in stable condition.” Depending on reports, Akbar is in stable condition or on a ventilator. He was caught on a store video at 6: 20 a.m. yesterday in traditional Moslem garb. You know what that means: The mass murder had nothing to do with Islam!

Already, officials are feverishly coming up with Bizarro World, non-Islamic explanations for the mass murder. Hasan was reportedly distraught about being deployed to Afghanistan, and suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder, based on the stories his combat veteran patients had told him. Never mind that, as James Fulford pointed out, you can’t get PTSD without “without actual trauma.”

Of course, Hasan was upset… because he’s a Moslem!

A military mental health doctor facing deployment overseas opened fire at the Fort Hood Army post on Thursday, setting off on a rampage that killed 12 [N.S.: in the meantime, 13] people and left 31 [30] wounded, Army officials said.

Authorities said immediately after the shootings that they had killed the suspected shooter, but later in the evening they recanted and said that he was alive and in stable condition at a hospital, watched by a guard.

“His death is not imminent,” said Lt. Gen. Bob Cone at Fort Hood. He offered little explanation for the mistake, other than to say there was confusion at the hospital.

A law enforcement official identified the shooting suspect as Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the case publicly.

The violence was believed to be the worst mass shooting in history at a U.S. military base.

The shooting began around 1:30 p.m., when shots were fired at the base’s Soldier Readiness Center, where soldiers who are about to be deployed or who are returning undergo medical screening, Cone said.

Initial reports said that there were three shooters. Later reports stated that there was only one shooter, and that the other two men had been released, only to be superseded by reports saying that three men are in custody. Now, we are being told that Hasan was a “lone shooter.” In other words, no one outside of the top echelons of the military police currently knows what the situation is.

In this morning’s New York Times news blog, there is nothing about three shooters, but the following 8:38 a.m. update has Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan “Allahu Akbar!” (“Allah is great!”) while shooting people.

Update | 8:38 a.m. In an interview with Matt Lauer on NBC Friday morning, Gen. Robert Cone, the Fort Hood commander, said that Major Hasan is in stable condition but has not yet been interrogated. Mr. Lauer said that a relative of one of the witnesses to the shooting said that Major Hasan shouted ‘Allahu akbar’ (’God is great’) during the rampage. Gen. Cone said that ‘there are first-hand accounts here from soldiers that are similar to that.’

Post-Islamic Stress Disorder

The alleged Fort Hood shooter turns out to be alive, and there’s been a weird suggestion that he got Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from listening to war stories from patients:

“He would tell us how he would hear things, horrific things,” said cousin Nader Hasan, adding that dealing with soldiers returning from war zones was “affecting him psychologically.”

It is a cruel irony that the very mental disorder Maj. Hasan was trained to treat may have claimed him as a victim. PTSD is increasingly being linked to suicide and violence among troops returning from overseas combat. Media reports indicated Maj. Hasan is single with no children.[National Post]

He may have been unhappy hearing about the war, especially if he was an enemy sympathizer, since he would then feel bad hearing about successful operations as well as scary one, but that’s not the same as PTSD. You can’t get post-traumatic stress disorder without actual trauma.

McCaul says suspect had special training in shooting, parents hailed from Jordan

By W. Gardner Selby | Thursday, November 5, 2009, 05:40 PM

U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Austin, who has been briefed on the shootings at Fort Hood, said one suspect, Nadal Malik Hasan, was a physician who was born in Virginia to parents who hailed from Jordan.

He said he didn’t yet have the names of two other suspects.

“The background of these individuals is going to be critical,” McCaul said.

Hasan, McCaul said, “took a lot of advanced training in shooting.” He said he’s not sure why.

He said Hassan, with others, acted at Fort Hood using handguns.

“They did a tremendous amount of damage,” he said, considering they did not have AK-47s.

“It’s clear this was a coordinated attack,” McCaul said, adding that some have attributed it to the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder, though it’s premature to say so. “It’s too early to jump to any conclusions.”

McCaul said he also has been told that Hasan had undergone rehabilitative alcohol counseling.

“Whether it was domestic or foreign, clearly when a U.S. military base is attacked in this kind of fashion, that is an act of terror in my book,” McCaul said.

If you remember The Godfather, you may remember that Michael Corleone was also the child of immigrants whose parents didn’t want him to go into the military. The fact that may have been born in Virginia doesn’t mean this isn’t an immigration story.

Update On Hispanic Killings In Mayberry

I should point out that in the Mount Airy, NC shootings, it seems that all the victims were Hispanic, and at least one of the survivors can’t speak English:

Watson identified the victims — all residents of the town — as Victor Alfonso Martinez-Jimenez, 22; Javier Manuel Martinez, 21; Juan Manuel Martinez, 26; and Marcos Oviedo Aguliar, 21.

Michelle Oviedo, 21, said her boyfriend and brother were among the dead and the alleged shooter is her mother’s boyfriend. She said she was sitting on her porch not far from Wood’s TV when she heard the gunshots.

“When I got there, Javier and my brother were already gone,” she said. “They were on top of each other.”

Jose Armando Hernandez, 46, said through a translator that three of the victims were his nephews. He said his family is “destroyed” over the deaths, which he said stemmed from a problem with a woman.[Ex-con charged in 4 fatal shootings in 'Mayberry' By ALYSIA PATTERSON (AP) – 7 hours ago]

Fifth Anniversary Of The Murder Of Dutch Filmmaker Theo Van Gogh By Hostile Muslim

Today is the fifth anniversary of the murder of Dutch filmmaker Theo Van Gogh by hostile Muslim Mohammed Bouyeri because he perceived the artist’s message was anti-Islam. What fueled the killer’s fury was how the film Submission showed Islam’s inherent brutality toward women. (Watch Part 1 of Submission on YouTube.)

The anniversary of the attack prompted foreign journalists to check on the multicultural tensions and Muslim radicalisation in the Dutch capital. The Netherlands’ immigration issues have remained high on the agenda, fuelled by populist politician Geert Wilders and his Party for Freedom (PVV). But no attacks, home grown or from outside, have taken place since November 2, 2004.

That was the morning Mohammed B. followed Theo van Gogh on his bicycle before he shot him eight times with a handgun. The 47-year-old filmmaker fell to the ground, where his assassin slit his throat and pinned a note to his body with a knife. The note was a death threat to Ayaan Hirsi Ali with whom Van Gogh had made the short film Submission, about the abuse of women under Islam, and called for jihad.

B., son of Moroccan immigrants, was born and raised in Amsterdam. “The turnaround in his behaviour happened in this building”, Achmed Marcouch told reporters on a tour of the Amsterdam immigrant neighbourhood Slotervaart last week. Marcouch has been Slotervaart’s borough chairman since 2006 and the building he showed the journalists was the community centre Eigenwijks, where B. was a volunteer. He is now serving a life sentence for the murder. [Immigrant tensions remain five years after Van Gogh killing 11/02/09]

(It’s kind of bizarre that this Dutch news site [NRC Handelsblad] doesn’t use the killer’s name, since he is in the slammer and is not entitled to any deference.)

At a time when Lou Dobbs reports a shot fired at his home, the physical security of people who insist that immigration be legal remains a matter for concern.

The Dutch Defence League put up this video remembering Van Gogh a couple days ago.

“And Race And Sex Were In The Air…”: Comparing The Richmond CA Gang-Rape To The Duke Rape Hoax

Lawrence Auster has been writing about the gang-rape in California that I mentioned below. It appears that while the alleged perpetrators of this crime were largely Hispanic, but include one black and one white, the victim may have been white.

I say “may have been,” that’s a deduction, because it’s not the kind of thing that the media wants us to know, and they have even deleted a comment  surmising this from news website.

It’s true that the press rightly avoids naming rape victims, who have had a hard enough time already without having their name on TV. But compare this case with the Duke Rape Hoax, where a reporter for the Washington Post started a story in its Arts and Living section , even after it was becoming known that it was a hoax, with the words “She was black, they were white, and race and sex were in the air.” See how long it takes them to write a similar story this time.

Shouldn’t This Story Say SOMETHING About The Perpetrator’s Nationality, Citizenship, Immigration Status Or Race?

Here’s the story:

Restaurateur pleads guilty to immigration charges

The Associated Press
SEATTLE —

An owner of a chain of popular Seattle-area Thai restaurants has pleaded guilty to immigration charges, admitting she recruited U.S. citizens to engage in sham marriages with Thai nationals.

The point of the marriages was to allow the Thai citizens to obtain legal status to stay in the United States.

Varee Bradford 44, of Sammamish, pleaded guilty Friday in federal court to conspiracy to commit immigration fraud and three counts of fraud relating to immigration documents. Bradford is an owner of the “Thai Ginger” restaurants.

She faces a maximum five years in prison on the conspiracy count, and a maximum 10 years on the fraudulent document counts. Sentencing is set for Jan. 22.

According to the plea agreement, the U.S. citizens were paid $20,000.

Federal prosecutors say that in late 2007, Bradford told a U.S. citizen who was actually an undercover Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent that she would pay him $20,000 for entering into a sham marriage.

If a picture accompanies the story, we can see that Varee Bradford is from the Far East, and Google tells me that people named Varee are from Thailand. (Google always helps with the answer to the traditional American question “What kind of name is that?” since the press, for ideological reasons, refuses to tell you.)

A Thai restaurant site will tell you that Mrs. Bradford was born in Thailand, and is married (non-sham–they were in the restaurant business together) to an American citizen. But the Associated Press can’t be bothered.

Syrian Immigrant Rapist Shouts “In America Sex Is Legal”

Paragraph seven of this story mentions that Torkieh Sadagheh is a “native” of Syria. Technically, that means he was an immigrant from Syria, or a Syrian immigrant.

After ‘In America sex is legal’ outburst, rapist gets 15 years

BY Melissa Grace
New York Daily News

Wednesday, October 14th 2009, 4:00 AM

A fake livery cab driver tried to cry his way out of a 15-year prison sentence Tuesday for raping one woman and attempting to rape an exotic dancer.

When the tears didn’t work, Torkieh Sadagheh, 30, screamed that the judge was “worse than Hitler” and dismissed one of his victims as a prostitute.

“They have two women defiling my constitutional rights!” Sadagheh shouted after Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Thomas Farber sentenced him to 15 years in the slammer for the violent Feb. 17, 2008, attacks.

“The first one was a prostitute and the second one I drove home,” Sadagheh said as he tried to back-pedal his way out of a guilty plea.

The desperate courtroom bid - in which the Syrian native claimed he was pressured into coping a plea, incomprehensibly compared himself to an assembly line cake and shouted, “In America sex is legal!” - got no sympathy from Farber.

“I have before me a selfish, manipulative, narcissistic predator,” Farber said, who noted incredulously that Sadagheh of Brooklyn claimed the stripper “wanted to exchange sexual favors for a $40 cab ride.”

“I see no reason to give him less than 15 years,” Farber said. “He probably deserves more.”

Let me tell you what I think Sadagheh meant when he shouted “In America sex is legal”. He meant that while in Syria they are very repressed and Islamic, American women are supposed to be available–to immigrants like him. While nineteenth century immigrants believed that the streets of New York were paved with gold, he believes that the streets of New York are paved with…sex. And there are a lot of immigrants who feel that way. How many of them are driving cabs.

White Criminals Make The Front Page

In 2002 I did an article called Philadelphia Foolishness in which I discussed the kerfuffle that resulted when the Philadelphia Daily News printed a front page story full of the “photographs of 15 of the 41 people who [had] outstanding homicide warrants in the Philadelphia area.” There were no white people among the 15, and there were no white suspects being sought for murder. Complaints about this were heard from a black PR man, a local black politician, and local Black Muslim Imam. Well, the Chicago Tribune is apparently not taking any chances of this happening to them, and managed to pick the two whitest criminals out of a lineup for their front page. A Nation Of Cowards writes:
